OK, I come from the old skool way of thinking when it comes to collecting, y'know, keeping it nice in its box/bag or whatever. Now my quandary is this, I have a bunch of really nice Marmit pieces in my collection, and they are still sealed in their bags. I want to display my collection, but as you can probably guess, the stuff in their bags doesn't look so great on a shelf with the rest of my stuff. Do you think I should take them out? I did'nt buy the items to get them to appreciate in value, but from my Star Wars collecting days, it's a hard habit to break...

What do y'all think??

i voted with open them up...I guess all i can say is i love my old star wars toys...i don't care what they are worth i have about 60 of them and i love to display them. also you got to ask yourself if you collect them to just think about what they are gonna be worth in the future...my guess is you really love toy collecting(as most folks on here)and, like you said, you are in a old habit that is hard to break.

you said it yourself that you want to display them...there's your answer...they'll love you for it!

to me, if you are gonna keep shit packed away in boxes or sealed in their bags there's no point to collecting in the first place.

not really, part of the appreciation is the artwork on the packaging (for me anyway), it finishes it off. When it comes to Marmits tho, well, it's just a bag aint it.

I really respect that point. when i open figures that are bagged with headers i restaple the bag/header and pin in to a wall to display. still fun to have and look at that way.

Displayed. I think some packaging is cool but I personally like to see stuff out of the bag. I don't get excited to have a toy in a bag on a shelf or in a box.

haha, it looks as though with a little help from my friends (or fiends) they will be opened!

I agree with y'all, they just can't be seen properly in their bags, plus I can't sniff the vinyl haha!

Cheers everyone ;)

Do what you want with them. They are your toys and you paid for them. I have most out of the package but a few in because they are just easier to display...or the box art is awesome (I hate when they do that cause I won't be able to throw out the box).
