I was thinking the same thing as I read the first post - finally a headlining show from them!

I was at the Fy Fan show on Monday wearing a ND shirt and someone said something about loving their first couple of records and I had to school him on current Napalm Death. I have rarely encountered the fury displayed at one of their live shows over the last few years.

I don't know what lit the fire under their asses this decade, but whatever it is, I hope it keeps up.

I don't get that.. someone locally made "their early stuff.."

that wall of noise they have has only gotten better.

last 2 releases in particular still melt my earwax..

truth be told my city sucks for shows of any kind.

glad to catch them live at all.

the venue they are playing at is a dump.

all the best shows I saw in the 80s were in

this club called the Electric Banana!

which was partially on stilts where the stage

was set up.. when the place got filled it seemed

like it was gonna collapse at times!

now its a $$$ upscale itailian joint with

great food & still same owner.

HA! The owner of the Electric Banana was (and probably still is) an insane maniac. Extorted merchandise from us, and everyone who I've ever talked to that's played there, as well as pulling a gun on several friends' bands. However, it WAS the only place to play, which is why we dealt with it (at least the once).

LOL man i could spend a week here typing things that went down in that club.. i started going there in 1984/85 up through early 1990s & yes that owner pulled the gun out on quite a few folks including Danzig when Samhain 1st toured if I am not mistaken. I never really understood that & sucks you had that experience as well.. who was your band?

I keep looking at the bands on the Murderfest bill and wishing I could see even 10% of it. Hey West Coast folks.. what clubs are still around in LA from 80s era?

Well the obvious one that comes to mind would be the Whiskey a-go-go. it has been at the same location on Sunset Blvd. since 1964 and still going.

I want to go on Saturday to see Anal Blast and Sunday to see Magrudergrind and ivebeenshot, but I don't think I can make it down there.

I should be there for sat. and sun.
