Post Looking for Misfits CD: 12 Hits from Hell
I heard Amoeba in San Fran got a few hundred copies of this CD before it was pulled from the shelves. There was also several hundred promo copies sent out.

If anybody has one, I'd be willing to trade you some good stuff for it...

Any idea why it was pulled?

This sounds interesting...

lurker has:

1 sealed retail version (probably only 25 - 50 still exist)
1 opened promo copy with white stripe on back.

but sorry, they are not for sale or trade.
this is my favorite cd ever.

everytime they appear on ebay, the auctions still get pulled to this day because caroline has it flagged as a copyright infringement.

oh glenn, why did you fck this one up.

and the details from the bestest misfits site, misfits central.

12 hits from hell:

This album was originally scheduled for an October 30, 2001 release but was cancelled due to Jerry Only's disappointment with the mix and Glenn Danzig's disappointment with the artwork. About 2000 promotional CD copies were pressed and distributed. 40,000 regular CD copies were pressed, but later destroyed. Several record sleeves were printed and distributed (without vinyl) to members of the band. The original plan was to press 2000 copies of orange vinyl and 1000 copies of white vinyl. The album was "postponed" on October 15, 2001.

A little pricey, but he's got one for sale: Misfits Central and it's autographed by Bobby Steele.

I had some friends and some owners of a few record stores in the Seattle area all tell me similar stories around the time the CD was suppose to be released...

Plus I've seen quite a few turn up, both promos (without insert booklet)
and official versions (with booklet). Then you have the info on the Misfits Central website and lends authenticity (however slight) to the Amoeba story.

Plus, I bet all the copies that managed to get recalled are sitting somewhere...

My cd is a promo with white line through the barcode but it has the booklet. Not sure they all do though. I bought mine used at a local record store for $5.99 :D A great find. I got the poster for it at Newbury comics, they had it like 6 months after it got pulled and I just kept asking for it so they finally believed me that it wasn't coming out and gave it to me. Same as the cd cover.
