Easiest Way to Add Japanese Characters to MS Explorer 7
I'm tired of just seeing various sized boxes as characters when looking a sites with japanese characters....is there an easy way to add language package to IE7 without having IE7 software?
Tried looking on line and MS site but not sure what I should be downloading.

unless i'm reading into it wrong...
control panel > regional and language options > languages tab > tick 'install files for east asian languages' tab > ok.
japanese characters should then display fine in IE/firefox/whatever.

Everytime I've done it I've used the process that conqueror outlined. Then again I've always used legit software You could also just buy a mac!

I'm running Windows XP with IE7. When I'm setting up my machine for the first time, navigate to yahoo.jp, it prompts me to install the character set, and then it downloads the package from Microsoft's site. Firefox usually adjusts automatically after I do that.

Oh, yeah, and after you do that, make sure you set View > Encoding > Auto-Select. It doesn't work 100% of the time but it should automatically change to the Japanese character set when you're on a Japanese site.
