Awesome. Thanks for the post. Been a longtime fan and have his books but have never been able to know what his influences are.

I know, right? So nice to have something in English, finally...a great insight into this awesome, enigmatic talent...

Oooohh, do you have the Angles of Hunters books?
So nice...I've been tempted to grab a set so many times....

Angles of Hunters is a great book but took me a few years of ebay hunting to find. If you find a copy jump on it!

Takey can take sculpey and junk and turn it into pure gold.

If you can find any old copies of SMH (Sensational Model Hobby) magazine pick them up.

Some of the works in those mags is total pre cursor to the vinyl that's been producerd the past 4 years as far as artistic ideals.

I remember one work by Takeya from Lost Angels where it was a road-side stand run by a chimp with a communication chart, selling fresh body parts from a nearby slain giant Monkey man. The details were beyond amazing and you had to carefuly analyze them in order to get the whole story. Otherwise at forst you are "WTF?" if you can't read Japanese.

Out of a wierd dream. Best as I can explain it.

The giant/chimp diorama is RIDICULOUS in real life. Seriously, it totally blew me away the first time I saw it. Looking at his sculptures, I just think "How do they even more stuff this intricate without breaking it into a million pieces?"

Thanks for posting the interview!
