Since I have been unfortunately absent for a while, I thought I would attempt a sympathetic return through a share of some quick photos of the new addition to the family. After all, who could say no to a cute little face like that. This is Tanuki. He is sure a curious little kitty. He has since grown some (and gotten darker), but not lost much of his playful or inquisitive nature. One of his favourite activities is kitty boxing.
I am so, so sorry David. Life sure has a way of trying us on all level sometimes. I hope that Kiessa and Quibbins and frolicking somewhere through eternal fields of catnip and butterflies to chase. You've got my deepest sympathies and support, because I know how difficult it can be. We will miss you guys.
My heart and well wishes go out to you David. I am so sorry to hear about your kittees. From your photos, it seems that they both had a lot of fun with you (and the toys), and that they were very well loved and cared for. Sending a big hug to you, and I hope things get better for you.

Thanks for the kind words, all.
Charles joined me in the sun today. She's not nearly so interested in toys as her daughter was, but good company nonetheless.
Everyone needs more kitteh love, including me. And in that vein, the Calgary Human Society recently put out an amusing little commercial for an adoption drive:
The shelter found adoptive homes for 106 animals last week. Woohoo, way to go guys and gals!
Kind of a hard day for me. It was four months ago we lost our beloved Tanuki. I haven't said much about it here as it was (and still is) a pretty painful thing; and I was also hoping that he might find his way home somehow and I wouldn't need to. He was my best little buddy, an amazing companions though some tough times, and meant a great deal to me. Wherever he is now, I hope he is wrestling up a storm and getting into all kinds of mischief.

Warm thoughts go out to friends that have lost furry friends. Love the first and last shots in that post above.

Hi Steve, I am very very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your photos, what a wonderful cutie pie. Lots of love and whimsy in those photos. I can see he was well cared for and I know he will be missed. I still shed my tears when I think of Mr. Humphreys, but it's good to have our memories and they will always remain in our heart. I hope the pain will pass quickly to leave only happy thoughts, and I hope you will consider adopting another kittee soon. Tanuki can't be replaced, but it sure helps to hear the sound of 4 (or 8 or 12!) paws padding around the home. Lots of love and hugs sent your way.
P.S. If you lived closer to me, I would arrive at your house with a big basket containing...
I would love to adopt him myself, but Henry and Emma wouldn't like that.
If there is anyone living near Atascadero, California, please do consider adopting Bonzai. I emailed the shelter, and he's described as a sweet and friendly XL cat (15 lbs.), although not XL by H&E standards . Here's his info, and if you do adopt him, can I come and visit? https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/31677880/
