Post Michael Turner - RIP
I'm not sure how many of you are western Comic book fans, but I just found out that Michael Turner who had done books like Fathom, and a bunch of DC books passed away on June 27th battling cancer. He was only 37 years old.

I talked to him for awhile and got a sketch within the past year. He looked good -- I thought he had beaten it. I am really sorry to hear this news. I guess he will suffer no more. His fans will miss him, and so will I.

I got to meet him in Australia last year, was amazing for me because between him, Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee and Travis Charest, I'd finally met my comic gods.

Really sad to read this.

I just read that and was pretty shocked. I know he was battling cancer for awhile but I guess it was a lot worse.

I believe he was the first artist of Witchblade. He also did one of the Loeb Superman/Batman series. I'm not a fan of his style, but it is sad, especially so young. I had no clue the guy had cancer. I'm not attending but I'm sure there will be a cloud over SDCC for some. How many dealers you wanna bet will be busting out their "SIGNED" Turner stuff now?

i flipped through all his inked pages last year at sdcc and from what i remember, his art was already selling for a good chunk of change. i'm sure prices will skyrocket now.
