 Re: The 6th Day (2000) - What's Next?
as much as i love my dog, i honestly don't know how i would feel about having a copy of him 50 years down the road...wouldn't anyone else feel as if it's just a soulless bootleg?
cloning an animal just creates a copy of the animal on the outside, the dog itself will not immediately recognize you and your relationship won't pick up where you left off. wouldn't it be better to just rescue another dog of the same breed? with as many dogs and cats and other animals as there are in pounds and shelters right now, i think we should worry about animals that are already here rather than try to bring new life into the world.
regardless, if a person's choice is to try and relive a stage of their life with a certain pet that they miss, i'm not going to tell them that it's wrong. i can't imagine how heartbroken i'll be when my puppy passes, maybe i'll feel differently after?
