Was listening to that Ed Rush & Trace's 1997 One in the Jungle mix on my way home from school today. After Shadowboxing there was this tune that just blew my mind (well mixing it with Shadowboxing was really blowing my mind because of the dueling reece basslines). When I came to a stoplight I scrolled back through my ipod at the tracklisting and saw that disappointing ??? for unknown dub, and of course it's only one of three unknowns on the mix! I searched all afternoon on the internet to find it and I finally did! It's the unreleased 1st mix of Edtrafienical, which I then proceeded to audio hijack off of youtube (only took me ten tries because it kept messing up!) He has a bunch listed including Optical & Trace's Split Personality.

I love old source direct, really lush soundscapes with beats all over the place. Jon B ended podcast with one of their records last year, I think it was on Good Looking if I remember.

Probably Complexities or Secret Liason. Both really good tunes.

I remember Reid playing my copy of Dubplate Circles and some kid asking to buy it off me on the spot. Some great tunes in that mix that I haven;t thought about in... half my life =P

Holy fucking shit I just spent a bit of a dime on a record I use to own (my old copy was mint should have never sold it!) but it's such a classic tune (both sides) I'm currently working on a 1991-1992 mix which will feature old Reinforced/ Moving Shadow/ Chill/ Rabbit City etc. Will definitely have to wait for this Doc Scott tune though (both sides need a listen):
Hell yes 1991! They just don't make music like this anymore!

If you're in to old darkside or even ragga, Seventh Storey Projects is putting out a rare gem of an 4 track EP (yeah! people still press vinyl) of tunes either never available or were on on jungle CD's from 95. It's all about the Dread Killer track at 1:35 which samples Coppola's Dracula:

I spend more time and money on oldskool jungle than toys anymore, if you had not guessed. Anyhow Neil Trix of Bangin Tunes/ FBD fame is repressing the classic 'The Core':

Any Photek fans here? While he definitely hasn't made anything quality since around 2002 (IMO) his mid nineties stuff will always be right up there with some of the best drum n bass ever done. More fond of his Studio Pressure, System X and Truper aliases and I'm really happy the latter are finally getting a reissue (since the original Street Beat 10 inchers cost a mint these days):

Yeah, right here boss. Rupert is the master. Period. I am a fan of this era and then the mid 90's two sword era Photek more so.
i'd just want the CD release. I have Hidden Rooms vol 1 Cert 18 Recordings on CD as well as the rest in that series in addition to most of the other photek cds. I fell out when he went all house music..

While I haven't been buying many toys I've certainly been buying back old jungle records I used to own to start making sets again for myself. It's what I've been spending all my time doing. I just did a slightly under 2 hour 1994-1995 mix yesterday. Available for download and listening here:

Sofubi toys are my bread and butter but the black crack will always be my first crackpipe love (and I can actually do stuff with them i.e. DJ) For every junglist out there looking for sick vinyl, you need to own these:
Keeping Vinyl Alive is doing another run of these (mine came in the mail yesterday). If you like oldskool and love Intense from back in the day here's a chance to own all the rarities in one go (which would cost you hundreds these days- oldskool jungle is insanely priced!). Beau from Intense does all the mastering now and I can tell you first hand the press if off the meter (comes with free mastered wav downloads once you get the vinyl- surprise link on etching of A1 plate):
