Sounds like a sweaty night out. The last pumped DB night i attended had Bad Company headlining at 5 am... after that the mind got blurry.

I really used to dig dnB back in the late 90's...but around 00, my tastes changed and i started listening to breakcore...almost exclusively....in fact the majority of jungle doesn't do it for me anymore....it lacks chaos and energy...Ive been listening to breakcore for about 8 years now, and I've never once looked back. not for everyone, I know...in fact a lot of people find it offensive to their senses....but whats chaotic to some is harmony to others i suppose.
Breakcore artists i generally listen to
Bong-ra
Enduser
Doormouse
Electric Kettle
Dev Null
Otto van schirach
DROON
sickboy
newer stuff thats worth checking out is Cardopusher(argentina) and The razor (good friend from toronto),
also its not breakcore, but u gotta love bexxie.

dark Christmas was one of the best nights out for me ever. Must have been 96 I think. We rush and optical.. Totally nuts in a small room... Brings back som memories for sure.
Bukem as another favorite of mine back then. I recall a party in NH in 95 or 96, blizzard outside and he showed up in a full length fur coat.
You brought back some memories!

yeah lots of memories here...
this one takes me back too...

Speaking of Bukem.... there was a tune (which coincidentally I just won on ebay!) by Chalke called Resurrection. Wicked beats, lots of string sounds, and a sample from Evil Dead 2 that went "demon resurrection and those forces which roam the forest and dark bowers of man's domain" that he always spun in sets from 1993.
Anyhow whilst searching for a sample of it with some clarity (The Yaman 11 mp3 of Bukem has it but it's poor quality) I came across this wicked new 1993 mix set from Digital- that has that tune in it (enjoy!):

if anybody is interested in buying any jungle,,ragga,,hardcore,,atmospheric,,jump-up,,,or early techstep vinyl,,just get in touch with your wants,,,good chance that i will have it...
i have been widdling away at my collection slowly but surely,,,trimming some fat (lixx can vouch that my collection runs pretty deep)..
selling records on the bay is a pain the ass & can be really time consuming...
btw,,in terms of bukem,,nothing beats demons theme,,music or the early seba releases...

I knew there was mention of some folks liking Danny Byrd, I didn't think it was from two years ago.
anyway, I'm listening to Crissy Criss' show from this week on 1xtra and there is a guest mix from Danny Byrd.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wygnz#synopsisfigured some of you folks might like it.
Also, for those who don't already listen, you can check out podcasts from Random Movement and DJ Marky on itunes. Free, and really great mixes once a month. nice way to keep up with the new stuff coming out.

I find it interesting that a decent percentage of people here who use to be into dnb/jungle now collect japanese toys. Are our brains wired that closely?

I recently found an old stash of Boston dnb flyers from around 94-96. I should scan them and post them up if I can find enough time in the day.

Cool, I'm sure Casper and Timestretch would be on half of them. Really cool guys from what I remember, Casper sold me a copy of DJ SS- Black a long time ago.

That was my crew back then
Ian and Julian were friends of mine, along with MC Rumble who I still chat with from time to time. I did a couple of roadtrips with timestretch to NYC when he would play koncrete jungle. Crazy times back then...they played a night here called Jungle Roots. LTJ in a small basement room...Dark Christmas with Ed RUsh....two of my most memorable evenings from those days.
Ian had a track with a Fugees sample in it that had the nastiest breakdown in it. I'd love to find a copy of that if anyone knows the track name. As I recall it was a dubplate so it might not have been released officially.
