Seriously, this is pathetic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mopkn0lPzM8

Like, what? Is he 4? Did someone steal his milk and kick him in the shin?
If he wins based on crap like this, the world is in deep shit.
Actually I think he is more likely to lose based on crap like this. Hell I might even consider voting if he keeps up this Obama bashing campaign, and I don't really even give a shit who wins.
Actually that's a lie. This sort of juvenile twat whinge makes me want to see McCain lose. And really really lose, like ending in tears, maybe wetting his pants and a dribble on his shoes.
Get a fucking grip! You're trying to become President of the "Free World", act like it, have some fucking dignity and respect.
shit....

An interesting thing that I've noticed and heard from some republicans, is that McCain is running one of the worst campaigns since Bob Dole.

This ad and the Britney Spears/Paris Hilton one that McCain did was terrible. I don't know if you've seen that one.

Okay, I'm not too up on the bible...but did McCain just compare Obama to Moses and then question Obama's ability to lead? Was Moses a bad leader? I thought that he lead his people to freedom? That commercial is terribly confusing, unless of course Moses lead his people to their deaths.

The controversy is some of the phrasing that Obama has used is very biblical and Jesus like. They are trying to paint him as someone who thinks he's a god.

Didn't someone get in trouble for doing that? Like selling it on ebay or something?

I don't know anything about the controversy, I stumbled across it after reading about the Hilton one.
But the problem I see with this is that it is just down right confusing. And really, shouldn't he be spending his time, energy and other people's money on telling us how great he is, rather than how godlike Obama is?

Before I wasn't really very fussed with who won, but as time goes on McCain just doesn't look like he has anything to offer, let alone whether he will even survive the 4 years of presidency.

I should have written..."controversy".

To me, I don't see it and it kind of feels like McCain is really trying to grasp at all straws.

Personally? Whoever is president next..McCain or Obama...is royally screwed. They will end up inheriting a mess and I feel that in 4 years won't be able to correct what's happened in the last few.

But for Rove and BushCo's dirty tricks in SC etc. in the 2000 GOP primaries, McCain probably would have been elected then. And that was before he utterly sold out his previously 'maverick' principles, too ...

Today he'd be retiring after eight years as Prez, we wouldn't be at war with Iraq, the US's balance sheet would be about $100 billion better, life would be very different.

Just another hellish legacy from Bushco.

Incidentally, if you haven't heard it, be sure to listen to Dave Davies' interview with Ron Suskind last week on Fresh Air (NPR). It is shocking - Lays out even more detail of the lies we were fed to get into this war. Cheney's evil truly seems boundless.

Here's the link to listen - javascript:NPR.Player.openPlayer(93319762, 93372775, null, NPR.Player.Action.PLAY_NOW, NPR.Player.Type.STORY, '0')

sure Moses can win an election, but after he does he'll have you wandering around the wilderness for forty years eating shit on the ground that god "left" there the night before.

It kind of makes me wonder if he's trying to feed the silliness of this ridiculous flame.

Post Re: umm... how desperate is McCain?
I'm not a fan of either campaign, but trying to weigh things as objectively as possible, really do feel like McCain's reeks of desperation. Sadly, the attack and "Obama's a vapid celebrity" ads seem to have had an effect. If polls can be trusted at all, the two contenders are more neck-and-neck than they were before McCain went "desperate."

For me there's a disgusting irony in how the hotheads on the right side of the aisle are trying to portray Obama as "the ObamaChrist" and so on. Those who pay attention to such things may have noticed the inordinate number of press photos of Dubya during the past eight years in which some-or-other circular motif framed his visage, like an ikon with a halo. Recently, similar such photos of Obama have been circulated, to SUCH howls of cynicism from the GOP. Pure hypocrisy. No politician is a saint. :-)

I'm no fan of Paris Hilton, but girlfriend really did score cool points with her response-to-McCain ad. Hilarious and surprisingly smart. Good sport.

My main complaint about this campaign season is that the campaigns themselves have been the primary focus of USA media coverage, more than the contrasting platforms of the candidates. I see this as a meta-campaign, more about style than substance. This is absolutely the wrong hour for that. American has been so dumbed-down. Dangerously so.

I think the last time there was any substance being discussed was during the 2000 campaign. Or maybe that's the last time I paid any attention...
I will be thoroughly disgusted if McCain wins - I thought even the idiots that voted for Bush finally began to realize how horrible the Republican party has been to our country.

The Dems who say they'll vote for McCain because Hillary is out of the race are sorely deluded IMO. Obama might seem like a bit of a hollow suit, but McCain isn't the McCain we thought we knew five or six years ago. I know it's a cliche to say so, but I really do think he represents another four years of Neocon puppetry. Hasn't the USA been driven into the ground and alienated the rest of the world enough, already? Maybe not, yikes.

I find it hard to believe she had anything to do with that.... besides picking which slutty bathing suit to wear.

The "compromise oil policy" was almost certainly scripted for her by someone else, but at least she agreed to the gig. That's what I found to be good sportsmanship. She could have just done the usual celebrity thing and have some publicist release a boring statement about how "my client does not wish to be used for..." blah blah blah. Oh well, I thought it was funny. :-)

or you could think the whole...all publicity is good publicity...specially for a attention whore like Paris.
I wouldn't go as far as saying "good sportsmanship" but I thought it was pretty funny as well
