Not sure how this happened, but Danzig's Blackest of the Black tour just happens to wind up in Kansas City on Halloween. I already have my ticket's. It's the first time I will ever see him live. I know the show will be nowhere near what it was in the 90's , but I'm still stoked. I just hope the set list is mainly 1-4 stuff. I have a feeling it won't be.

Wow, Kansas City gets the Halloween show this year? that is very cool :D
Saw him last year and it was cool but your right no where near the same as the 90s shows, still worth seeing though, the weirdest part was how few people were at the show :?
dont get your hopes up for mostly 1-4 stuff!
the Horrorpops and Beautiful Frankenstein with Doyle opened at the show I saw, they were both really cool. Doyle joined the Danzig band for some cool Misfits and Samhain covers for the encore, that was sweet for sure.
My brother is a big fan and usually travels to the Halloween show wherever it is, looks like he will be headed to Kansas City this year

Are you kidding, Dimmu Borgir is the sickest, dankest, Black Metal band walking the planet. Most of their lyrics are in Norwegian and/or English but man these dudes kill, SERIOUSLY.

Here's their website (Dimmu Borgir) if anyones interested in checking them out pre-tour. There are quit a few music downloads and/or samples.
http://www.dimmu-borgir.com/

Also playing will be: Winds of Plague, Skeletonwitch, and Moonspell

Danzig said in a recent interview his set list will start on 1 and go on through all his albums in order. Lately he's been doing more 1-4 songs, I think he knows damn well how most feel about 5-Circle of Snakes, and though he claims not to care, he plays towards it.

Last time I saw him was the "30 Min. of Misfits" tour, which was killer but I thought in that 30 minutes he could have done double the songs, lots of talking filled the space. Anyway, he seemed to do at LEAST half of the Danzig set with 1-4 stuff, maybe more than half, 3-4 "COS" songs than a small bit of 5-7.

He still puts on a killer show, does the big "reach out his horns-sign-hand" to the audience-high 5 deal, lots of jumping and microphone-chord whips and still actually belts out the songs.

Dimmu's kind of fun too, I hope to catch this tour in Atlanta.

Dimmu Borgir were fantastic when I saw them.
absolutely EVERYTHING you would want from a Black Metal band.
It was hilarious! Ultimately satisfying and I would totally suggest seeing them if you ever have the chance.
Perfection from shooting flame to demonic monks brilliant!
I couldn't tell if they were taking the piss or were totally serious, but it didn't matter, it was great!

Marduk was good as well, not nearly as comical. I think he was a bit more serious.

yeah, Marduk take there metal pretty seriously.
their pretty old school, and dedication. dedication, i guess, is no joking matter.

speaking of comical though. i remember reading about a black metal spoof type video in the vein of American Movie that circulated a year or so back called 'Legalize Murder' i think it might have also circulated under the name of 'Spinal Black.' Anyways, i think i read it in an older issue of Terrorizer....

i've been trying to find a place to download or watch it or whatever on the net, but my searching skills are pretty shitty (given the fact that it took me many many months from the start of collecting kaiju vinyl to learn about this here skullbrain board). anyone seen this at all?

Ok, so I wasn't the only one who thought the act was kind of funny. I just started to watch some of the music videos on their site. ...talk about corny. entertaining though

I could have seen Samhain in NOLA in the '80s but no one told me until the night of the show (a Sunday) and I had a math exam the next morning (the show was only a 3 hour drive away). I tried to be a good student and did not go and failed the test. ha!

The Danzig black tour was suppose to play NOLA and then Hurricane Katrina happened. And Danzig cancelled...I had just interviewed him for the Super7 article and he told me all the Misfits songs they were going to play.

I wept.
