Any of you NW Skullbrainers see Radiohead last night? Wet at the end, but definitely worth it!

Post Re: Radiohead
Last time I went to the states, I planned on watching Morrissey or Radiohead live.

I don't know why, but ended up going to the Police reunion concert at the Forum in L.A.... Andy Summers kinda suck with his performance that night. Stewart Copeland is still an awesome drummer. And Sting, well, is still Sting.

Sorry for the very slight derailing..now,back to Radiohead!

it was my sixth show and probably my least favorite of all of them, but none of their performances are bad. the setlist focused too much on the new album for me, but oh well right?

favorite show was definitely Madison Square Garden in October 2003. Good times....

Sign of the times. This came out while nirvana and pearl jam were huge, right? I think it was that they were trying to sell that image to the US audience? Either that or being super ridiculous and laughing at the whole thing while on MTV. Eh, maybe i'm trying to make excuses for them 'cos I hate to imagine they were like that back then. Going to see them in San Diego next week. Best Radiohead shows, Santa Barbara Bowl in '02 I think. We were in the pit for both nights.

The MTV poolhouse appearance was during the height of grunge. I actually remember seeing this when it came out and Thom Yorke seemed to have changed his appearance just for this show.

Best Radiohead show I've seen was at the Tibetan Freedom Festival in DC 6/13/98. They mostly played OK Computer. Mid set Thom asked if they'd all be up to change the set and play Creep and when he sang you could tell he really felt like singing that song. Michael Stipe joined them onstage for a duet on Lucky as well which was really different.

yeah those guys are great friends with michael stipe. most of the shows I've seen when they play "Lucky" he dedicates it to stipe.
They played Creep both times I saw them on the 2003 tour and it was great...you can tell how much fun they have playing the old stuff once in a while.

I can't even imagine seeing radiohead now, I saw them play a show after my iron lung but before the bends came out. One of the best rock bands live I have ever seen. It pains me to listen to them now.

Because I'm the one person in the world (apparently) that thinks they now suck and should've stayed a rock band.

NPR has broadcast the full Radiohead Santa Barbara show and is available through their All Songs Considered podcast.

Also interesting is the interview with the stage production guy who goes into their unique LED lighting setup.
