 halloween stockings?
i was just reading x-entertainment and he mentioned something about halloween toys getting larger in recent years... more like stocking stuffers Quote: There’s a definite trend with this year’s gamut of Halloween toys and novelties. Whereas many companies formerly marketed their spooky-themed “little things” as giveaways for trick-or-treaters, there are no such illusions this year. I’ve mentioned it before, but Halloween toys are now treated like veritable stocking stuffers, and I’m sure that it’s only a matter of time before we can buy giant socks made out of black wool and fishnets. i have not seen these before, but i think this is a sweet idea. i kinda want to build one for my wife's birthday (oct 23). she loves halloween more than anything, so i really think she'd get a kick out of that for a gift. and maybe it can be an ongoing thing i do for her i wanted to get some input from you halloween fans. what do you think the stocking should look like? have any of you seen this out there before? what sorts of things could be stuffed in there?

 Re: halloween stockings?
My mom always had little extra crap for us, she just put it all in a trick-or-treat bag and we busted that open vs. a stocking or wrapped present.
I wouldn't give OTHER kids stuff like this, just my own family. Other kids get candy.....if they dress up.

 Re: halloween stockings?
It'd be cool, as well, to just hollow out one of those cheap faom severed legs they sell as decoration, repaint the inside red and hang that up with a rusty nail.

 Re: halloween stockings?
I can get behind this, since this is the first valentine's day present I ever got for Skylar.

 Re: halloween stockings?
Halloween stockings would be cool. I have a solid black one I use at Xmas, picked it up at this place called rogers gardens, its black velvet and black fur. Also for Easter I have a little hinged coffin I call a Feaster Casket to celebrate zombie day my girlfriends dad made for me.

 Re: halloween stockings?
If you live in an area that has a Mexican or Chicano population, there are probably stores where you can buy Dias de los Muertos items, which can be perfect as "alternative" Halloween gifts. Bakeries or panaderias are good places to check for sugar calavera (skeleton) sculptures.

 Re: halloween stockings?
well, there's a huge indian population here for whatever reason, and lots of indian stores and restaurants, but I guess that doesn't help haha
the only hispanic stores are the little corner tiendas. any chance they would have day of the dead stuff?
she loves day of the dead things also. she used to have a sugar skull. not sure whatever happened to that
