 Bike thieves suck
Well all thieves suck but when your bike is your only source of transportation, it sucks big time. To whomever stole my bike in broad daylight I hope you crash into a Mack truck and die.

arrgghh,,,sorry to hear chris!!! nothing worse than thievery... was it locked up or did you do one of those "i will be in the store for only one minute,,it will be ok" moves??? either way,,shame on them...... hope they rot!!! knock wood,,i have never had a bike stolen in 20years of city living,,but i have always used chains which are heavier than the bike,,which sucks in itself... there is always the foldable bike option too....

It was stolen right next to my apt in the middle of the day! Talk about balls. I always lock my bike too. It was locked to a steel railing a few apts away from mine. I was getting ready to go to the store with my g/f and I walked past and was like "Wait something is wrong here, where the fuck is my bike?!" Might have to have a "need a new bike" kaiju sale, which sucks.

 Re: Bike thieves suck
Sorry to hear that Chris. Even sorrier to hear that you're selling off a few pieces in order to cover for this. If only you could remotely detonate the bike along with a gratifying mushroom cloud.

Sorry man and I hope you catch the piece of shit who did this to you.

2 days after my girl and I moved into our apt her bike was stolen from the basement. Nice neighborhood and everything....right out of the building. WEAK.

 Re: Bike thieves suck
Strange that in Japan people leave their bikes unlocked in public places all the time and no one steals them. You could leave your wallet in a restaurant and come back an hour later and it would still be where you left it. Sorry to hear about the bike Lixx. Happened to me to.

Lowest of the low. Look around your area though in case someone took it for short term use. I see dumped bikes all the time.

Sorry to hear this! I'd die if my whip got stolen!
If you had it locked, you should send a letter to the lock manufacturer. Give them a piece of your mind. You might get a free lock out of it.

 Re: Bike thieves suck
All the best to you Lixx........Yes eloco Death to thieves! (karmically of course ) Lixx I hope you can find a way for it to work for you. I had my 6 mth old laptop stolen about 2-3 months ago and have only just yesterday jumped in and ordered another. Exactly the same. I had to put half of it on my c card. Nothing about that is good, but I used the time that I was using on the laptop to concentrate on other things in my life and it has been good. I know a bike is different but I hope some good can come out of it. Please dont flame me guys for being dumb, but you have to look for any good in it, otherwise it gets the better of you. All the best Lixx....that piece of doodoo will get his, through either his own ignorance or a big truck.

 Re: Bike thieves suck
sorry to hear Lixx i remember when i was living in lynwood (for people that know... yea ) i was in the backyard playing with some toys, when some douche jumps over our 8+ foot brick wall, looks at me, gets my bike, and jumps back over! i was just there, stunned out of my 5 year old mind. and just last week i got my debit card stolen, and they used that sucker up almost to the limit (which wasn't that much to begin with)

 Re: Bike thieves suck
Thanks guys! I guess one bit of silver lining is that it is going to get mighty cold here soon and I would not be doing much riding here in Buffalo. Still having to shell out beans for a new one because some asshead would rather take one for free is a I FART A LOT. I would love to catch the sucker

 Re: Bike thieves suck
You guys are not going to believe this but I was riding on the subway this morning and just as we went above ground I looked to my left and sure enough it was some guy riding MY BIKE going the opposite way! I was freaking out! Unfortunately for me the train was moving and I could not get off until the next stop and by then he would have been long gone and I had to be at work in ten minutes.
Now I know you're thinking "Wait come on, how do you know it's your bike?" Well there are not many old Huffy Sea Trails bikes in Buffalo AND the sidewalk is directly next to train tracks, I saw a sticker I put on my rear fender as he rode away! I've been fuming all day wishing I could have stopped the train and confronted him.
The only thing I can think to do is be there this upcoming friday at the same time (or maybe even this monday coming up). Maybe the guy rides it everyday and takes the same path. I'm going to bring a cane with me and totally clothesline him if I see him. Oh and the Buffalo Police still have not showed up at my apt to take a report, despite numerous calls.

 Re: Bike thieves suck
So was it just a normal guy riding your bike?
Whatever the case, be careful that the guy didn't innocently buy your bike from a local shop. Where I used to live, I think thieves would sell the stolen bikes to the local shops (who sell them to other owners, who would have their bikes stolen by the same thieves, and so on ad infinitum).

No it was a hoodlum riding my bike. I've also alerted all the bike shops. I feel like Pee Wee Hermann at this point. Probably will never see the guy again but it was just frustrating to not be able to confront (train etc)

 Re: Bike thieves suck
Actually as much as I want to get revenge i'll A) Hurt the guy and get in alot of trouble over a bike, or B) Get my ass kicked and still be out a bike. Also C) I've never attacked a guy on a bike I bet it's hard and finally D) Who's to say I'll ever even see the guy again. So I did E) I just bought myself an almost similar bike on ebay for 70 clams: It needs complete tire replacement and maybe some brake work but it's vintage and I'm into that sort of thing (don't like new bikes) Also I bet if I'm on a bike and see my old bike I could definitely chase him down to the secret layer where he's parking my old bike and do the "I'm going to come back with a cutter and steal my bike back" thing.

 Re: Bike thieves suck
Glad you got a new bike. I had a bike stolen in elementary school and it sucked big time. Hated the thief that took it and still do. Hope he got what came to him.
