 Re: Akira: the American remake.
I wonder what katsuhiro otomo thinks of the movie idea. I don't see what's wrong with the manga and the anime movie that it needs a lame-ass american make-over. I guess Warner Bros. just want to cash in? Whatever the case, I just hope it's good. Oh I heard that the director of this short film might be directing the movie. Ruairi Robinson. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MfNyfwwfV4

Leave it to some Hollywood fathead with too much $$$$$$$ to try and re-invent the wheel.

talk about the live-action american remake of akira has been going on for a long time. the only sure thing is that it will suck. like, really really suck.

 Re: Akira: the American remake.
DiCaprio (who is also a producer) is supposedly planning on casting himself as Kaneda. I am sure that DiCaprio will fuck it up big time. That's a major classic anime to be messing with.

 Re: Akira: the American remake.
I hope it's actually SO bad it's comical. That's the best one can hope for. Maybe cast The Rock as Tetsuo and Eddie Murphy as Akira himself!

 Re: Akira: the American remake.
I think Giovanni Ribisi would make a good Testu--I mean "travis". I like dicaprio, but I still think it'll blow hard. Can they really give Akira a make-over and it still be the same thing? I mean, enough to actually call it "Akira"?

 Re: Akira: the American remake.
there is no way this will turn out well. its just a matter of what will be worse, the akira remake or the oldboy remake.
