Post Secret Santa/Gift Exchange at work
So today was our gift exchange at work. Lots of cool presents were given out, a couple of Transformers, about 3-4 bottles of alcohol which might get consumed today...while at work, but I think I got the best present.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D!!!!

I looked it up on Amazon. It looks like the US dubbed version but there are parts where they have no dubbing. Maybe someone like August can give more info since I'm at work at the mo.

This is the same as the 2 sets that came out over the last couple years, so if you have the other 2 vols. no need to get this one. The dub used was originally for footage that had scenes taken out for the U.S. market. With those scenes back in, there is no English audio for it, so it uses the Japanese with subs. Subbed is better anyways ;)

From reading reviews, yep. I was going to get it in case it had new features, but everyone who has reveiwed it said it was the same as the 2 volumes already out.

Hell yeah! I just picked that up for myself, and it's awesome (as I'm sure most of you know). It's got both the original Japanese track with subtitles and the English dub, and the video quality is amazing. Grab it quick!

I gave 2 small bottles of sake (Kizakura's Nigori and Drunken Whale's Junmai)...so it just goes to show you that karma does work....well...sometimes it works ;)

This answers a nagging question as I started renting and ripping this on netflix.
The question being is it best to watch Ultraman with or without subs.

The dubs are definitely cheesy, but I DO like the subs better.

I'd go with subs as well. If what I've read holds true, it would be just too strange watching it dubbed and then have bits of the scene come up in Japanese. If I'm lazy, I'll switch it to dubbed while I play games or surf while watching. Plus, you get a better feel for what's going on when you watch subs since you get to hear the real actors do their thang.
