Just got back, cool visuals but don't waste your money. I'm sad to say this as I was hoping for it to be a solid movie as I have always been a big terminator fan.

If its directed by McG it can't be good. Even if it had a good script it had no chance.

My thoughts exactly. The trailer looked really cool but since it's McG...I would bet that it showed a lot of cool visuals but no heart. He's very good at making sure you don't care about the characters.

Lash,
Thanks for the heads-up; the trailers actually looked good, but I had a feeling it might suck. I think a lot of "directors" lately forget that flash is no substitute for a plot, or characterization.

Dont get me wrong, if you want to see 2 hours of mindless violence with some vaguely familiar plot than you should go. Every now and then its okay just to say fug it and see some cool visuals. Just dont go expecting some amazing furthering of the Terminator series.

Honestly I couldn't place when this was supposed to take place. I had to look it up. And you tell me if you get confused by reading this " The time line of this film is before the future time line of the first film and after the main time line of last film in the series " But even with this you may still get lost during the film as it just doesn't feel like this time line is right. The machines in the future are models before the version Arnold was. I guess the time line would have to be before the first movie, but also after... ?

Bale really isn't the focus of the film its more about Marcus. The problem is you really don't have any emotional connect to him, and bale as Conner is cold and has no connection to the Conner as a kid from T2. So you really don't get any connect or emotion from the characters. You dont really care who gets killed of what happens. Well you kinda want to see Kyle survive. But you kinda know he has to stay alive otherwise the entire franchise will fall apart.

To me it was a direct to DVD movie with big budget effects. Even the trailers sucked.

lol, I cant really spoil this movie as even without seeing this I can bet anyone that has seen any of the previous T movies can predict what happens and how it goes down.

Movie was written by the guys that wrote "Catwoman"... enough said. Sadly the best thing about this film might be that McG directed it?

I love negative reviews like this. I usually end up enjoying the movies becuase I have such low expectations. Same thing happened with X-men orgins. I went with low expectations and was entertained. :)

Post Re: Terminator Salvation
I went into this full well knowing this isnt a actual Terminator movie, but something new. As a result it was a great action movie with some homages to the others here and there, and even then i still hardly referenced the others. IMO you cant be watching an ACTUAL Terminator movie without arnold. So that said, if you like a good action movie its worth seeing on a big screen.

Oh, and calling yourself McG is the lamest thing ever.

Looks like the best thing that will come out of this movie is the Meltdown.

I like that John Connor has carefully carried his Guns n' Roses cassette around for all this time.

Hmmm... I was hoping that this moive would be good, but who the hell is McG? I just looked him up on IMDB and I don't see a single thing in his resume that is even close to being worthwhile. Why in the world would a studio give this guy money to make a Terminator film? A big thanks to LASH for warning me away from this. Maybe I'll catch it on DVD or cable if I happen to be in front of a TV when someone turns it on.

Post Re: Terminator Salvation
I thought it was cool. I kind of lowered my expectations after T2. I thought this was waaaay fucking better than T3.

I wish the focus could be on Connor a bit more. I thought this was a lot of fun actually. I was entertained. If there's another Terminator movie in the works as a follow up to this one, I'd go see it if the cast and crew didn't change too much. If Speilberg directed it, but McG did the action scenes, that would be nice, ha. the movie's heartbeat was kind of in-and-out (thanks, McG), but at least the cast was pretty good.

the action scenes were great though. I think McG did a good job there--definitely IMO.
