The SB Moleskine Project--SEE LAST ENTRY FOR DETAILS!!
Hey SB Gang, Over the past year or so since joining, it is clear that we have a really talented and creative group of folks. So I figured, what better way to exploit (in a good way) everyone's creative minds--not just those of the proper artists. Enter: the Skullbrain Moleskine Project. Here is the idea: using a Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine, which contain about 30 pages, any willing participant may contribute a drawing, sketch, collage, etc. Depending on the level of interest, I would be willing to add more books. For instance, if only five in the group, each contributor's drawing should be about 5 pages--maximum. We don't have to be super strict about this, actually I think it looks cool when the drawings overlap or blend together a bit, but we just want to make sure no one gets shorted on space. As the project starts working, I'll ask the contributors to upload pics, etc., so we can all see what everyone else is up too! Let's make some farts, er...arts! The Concept: Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each member will draw on a couple of spreads (3-4 pages) then send it on to the next person. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others. I am throwing it out there, but once a book is complete, I will donate it to the Super 7 store. Who knows, in five years there may be a library of SB Moleys for all to see! 1. We start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book. 2. Each person gets 1 month to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person on the list. 3. The number of each contributor's pages will be determined by the number of members assigned to each book. 4. Members are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful.5. When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back me and by then I hope to see if S7 is up for taking them in. 6. Communicate regularly. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome. If you want in, please start adding your name to this thread...and I emphasize, you do NOT have to be an "artist" by trade.

I was also just thinking, since many people don't log on everyday, let's just say the vacancy list is open until this coming Friday, 3 July'2009.

5 - NT (ditto with rhino's comment) I've been needing to get more creative and maybe this'll help. I can be flaky with this type of shit though, but I promise to move the book on even if I flake on drawing.

Yeah, if you get it and you just KNOW there is no way you'll do it, just send it on to the next contact.

 Re: The SB Moleskine Project
To show you just how cool this stuff can end up looking, this is an excerpt from one I did a while ago. However, this set of pages is how things can look when three different people intermingle their styles. Also, add in your suggestion as to whether we should do this freestyle, or if you'd all prefer a theme to work with.

 Re: The SB Moleskine Project
I'm down for 1 pg, don't want to ruin the book with my crappy art so it's best to limit me to just the one page if possible

 Re: The SB Moleskine Project
The more names that get added to this list, the more excited I am getting about kicking this Project off! I just want to reiterate, you do NOT need to be a skilled artist to jump on board. This is supposed to be a fun and inspiring activity for all of the SB community!
