Skylar and I have been devouring this show. I know its a soap opera, but the spookiness makes up for the melodrama.

We're about 60 episodes in now, so please no spoilers. Any other fans here? I'm kind of obsessed with it at the moment!

I grew up watching this series, and we ran both DS films at the Castro Theatre last October! Plus, we had both Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans) and Lara Parker (Angelique) in attendance as our Guests of Honor:

I remember reading that Depp was interested at somepoint or another in being involved in a remake of it.
Was the TV remake in the 80s? or early 90s?

Johnny Depp is scheduled to play Barnabas in movie slotted to come out in 2011, which is partially why I wanted to watch the series first. I love him & will surely be excited for this film release!

When the Depp/Burton film hits theaters, expect to see -- finally -- a DVD release of the two DS films, HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS (1970) and NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS (1971).

I watched this growing up as well; I had the board game and the Barnabas model.
It's a great show. The 1991 remake looked promising , but I think they tried to introduce to many plot points too soon into the series. Oh, and there was an auto show in the 60's where I got to meet Jonathan Frid , (and Adam West).
