 The Wolfman trailer
Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Agent Smith in the remake of the original 1941 film starring Lon Chaney Jr, Claude Rains and Bela Lugosi. http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/thewolfman/Quote: Makeup artist Rick Baker acknowledged transforming del Toro was difficult because he is a hairy man: "Going from Benicio to Benicio as the Wolf Man isn't a really extreme difference. Like when I did An American Werewolf in London, we went from this naked man to a four-legged hound from hell, and we had a lot of room to go from the transformation and do a lot of really extreme things. Here we have Benicio del Toro, who's practically the Wolf Man already, to Benicio del Toro with more hair and bigger teeth."

 Re: The Wolfman trailer
I was very surprised to see how promising this looks. Of course when I heard they were remaking it I had visions of Psycho, TMC, Halloween, and various other horrible remakes I also think the original is old enough that it almost needs a modern remake, as long as it's done right.... which appears to be so.

 Re: The Wolfman trailer
I think that the difference with this and the others you listed is that Werewolves have a long troubled life on screen and it wasn't til the 80's where they actually were given any respect. The other ones you mention are all slasher films and any slasher film is a remake.
I see this as sitting comfortable next to Bram Stoker's Dracula, i.e something more than a teenage fright night. I'm glad they went this route with it, updating as opposed to rehashing. Just wish they had done that with the Mummy... Update it as opposed to destroy it.
I suppose now we wait for Frankenstein.
Unless like me you are super excited about Keanu Reeves in Jekyll and Hyde... Or the one with Forrest Whitaker and 50 Cent...
