Post Timeshare question
I have a question-I've never stayed in a timeshare, but our friends insisted on wanting to save a buck and book a timeshare over a hotel.

It just occurred to me that there may be no maid service! Who will bring me clean towels & make my bed!? oh noes!

What's your experience? Is there maid service & toiletries?? or are you just kind of on your own for that stuff?

Hotels rule, timeshares drool.

It depends on the place, but the ones I've stayed at in Orlando, you're pretty much on your own.

The maid just comes in at the end and cleans up for the next guests. You can get towels and help from the front desk, but mostly it's like an appartment that you use for your stay. I think they usually have some toiletries and some stuff in the kitchen like coffee and filters for the coffee maker.

I prefer it because I don't like having people going in and out of my room while I'm out and also you can stock up the kitchen.

Post Re: Timeshare question
We own the timeshare at Disney, and the maid comes on the fourth day of the stay.
If we want extra towels we usually "borrow" them from the pool area, but I have also called and asked for more to be brought. They usually don't kick up too much of a stink.

in my case, i would have to change your statement. my timeshare rules and the hotel (in this case) also does as well because it isn't any different from the timeshare.

ok, got ahold of my friends who did the booking. it seems like its a combo of a "condo" and a "hotel room" with housekeeping. i'm relieved! :)

Disney World Here I come! (its my first time not staying on Disney property and I'm worried it won't be as fun! )

I love it, Judy & I go almost every other weekend :) We have season passes, (4 years in a row) and pretty much go just to do a few rides, eat lunch & people watch. You'd think we'd be burned out by now, but with 4 parks, there is always something new.

We have a timeshare around the islands of Hawaii. There is maid service every other day. If we were ever low on bathroom stuff, all we had to do was call the desk and they'd send up whatever we needed. I guess it depends what place you pick and how they run about their maid service.
