 HP question...
didn't know where to put this. it's probably a stupid question, but i'm good at those. if hp's are hand painted, how are production runs painted? i always assumed they are hand painted as well, having an airbrushed look and all. or isn't airbrushing considered hand painting?

 Re: HP question...
HP's are usually referred to being "handpainted" by the artist or creator. Factory Painted is usually referred to when the artist/creator has someone else do it.

 Re: HP question...
Also if the creator/artist is the painter for all the runs, HP is refered to any 1 off figure. As where if they do a run (more than 1, usually in the area of 5+) it's considered a Factory Paint usually. Just words.

 Re: HP question...
There is also FHP (Factory Handpaint), but I've only heard this term used for some of the Pus stuff.

Actually pretty much all toys are handpainted since there really aren't any automated painting machines for toys unless you're talking about pad printing on toys like d@##ys but even those are operated by hand so,, HP I think is just language for this scene that pretty much means toys personally painted by the artist and not to be taken literally.

 Re: HP question...
thanks all. so basically "hp" is a pimpin' term for artists (even though i thought this line of toy collectors didn't like that). got it.

This is why before his eyesight began to deteriorate, the master painter Goto-san painted all of the amazing, OG Mutant Heads and Evils himself, as opposed to the factory painted (and masked) versions that have been dropping in the past year and a half or so. At what stage did Goto-san start painting RXH? Who painted them before that, was it Kiyoka Ikeda?
