 Patience?
Not that its that new of a trend, but interesting that the entire want section if filled with requests for LB releases from hours ago. Guess the whole gimmie gimmie gimmie sense of collecting is still in full swing.

 Re: Patience?
you are right, its nothing new. not everyone can/will drop a few hundred to get the couple pieces they want
this happens every year when the lucky bags drop, as i am sure you know.. so not that surprising

 Re: Patience?
I hear those Want threads actually produce results. I believe a couple of hook ups have already occured.
successful Want threads = more Want threads.

 Re: Patience?
can't think any other way to get part of lucky bag w/o buying a whole lucky bag.

 Re: Patience?
I see the ups & downs to the issue. However, I like that Boardies can "keep it in the family" rather than the items ending up on YJA and/or eBay. (This trend seems pretty predictable--just go back to August, right after SDCC.)

 Re: Patience?
I got the impression that there were quite a few people who tried to score lucky bags, but they were sold out so fast they did not get a chance. If you're in that boat, then just picking up one item from someone who scored a bag is more of just a consolation prize than a strategy.

 Re: Patience?
what i think is funny is when a for sale thread pops up with some of the items that are pretty much caked all over the first page of wanted threads...

 Re: Patience?
I understand all that, just funny to see all the begging for figures that in most cases aren't even in hand yet when I used to spend years trying to find figures (some of which now show up in bst for next to nothing lol). Just a whole different mindset.

 Re: Patience?
I can understand the want posts for sold out items. What I don't understand is the impatience with some people.
A board member came through with something I was looking for. But I wasn't bumping the thread every week, frankly I almost forgot that I posted about it.
The impatience really isn't anything new. I remember it on the board in 2006 or so...
edit: what I do think has changed is the attention span. Every week seems to bring something new that takes away the interest from the previous week.

Just a whole different mindset. I know what you mean. For what's been popping up on the BST, seems you could get a whole shelf full of classics for the price of a Lucky bag. And LS is correct about attention span. It's interesting to see all the "Ohh-Ahh! Toy of the Year!!" that lose all interest after 3 months.

 Re: Patience?
I notice a lot of people have Pocket Mummy Boy for trade. Makes me wonder if people actually get the figures cause they like them or cause they know its gonna be a hot item and they can use it to trade or sell later. Sad, for us people that really wanted a certain toy but were not given the opportunity to buy one cause they sell out right away just to see them come up for trade not too long after.

It looks like some folks pick up figures just to trade for others...it is a shame. That's why I passed on a Gargamel LB this year, as most of the stuff in it I didn't want and would just sale or trade. I passed so I could give someone else a chance to score one.
