 Shining vinyl
I've used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser to remove some scuffs on vinyl, and it seems to leave the vinyl a little duller. Anyone know anyway to get the viny back to its original shine? I don't want to clear coat it. Just wondering if there might be some cleaning or household item that gets it back to its original gloss?

 Re: Shining vinyl
As long as its not over anything painted, a little V Color thinner MIGHT get the shine back. I've tried to clean stuff up with Acetone, lost the gloss, then glossed it back up with V Color thinner before. Other than that, you could try a little spritz of clear coat, even though neither of those solutions is perfect (and both could lead to messing the finish up more).

 Re: Shining vinyl
Dullness aside, how the the Magic Eraser work for cleaning up the scuffs? I have a blue vinyl on vinyl scuff on my GID blank monster car that I'd love to safely remove.

 Re: Shining vinyl
I swear by the magic eraser. I've not used it on anything particularly shiny, so I can't speak to it's dulling qualities. On "raw" vinyl, it seems to work like a charm. Works pretty good on walls as well.

 Re: Shining vinyl
Yeah it works really well, just don't scrub too hard or may take off paint if the scuff is over paint.
Thanks for the tip Ricky, if only I could get V-color in the US, I wonder if other acrylic thinners would work?

 Re: Shining vinyl
I used a liquid called Novus #1 Plastic Clean and Shine. It works really well, doesn't get too glossy, but is great for restoring the shine in vinyl and plastic figures. It also is dust repellent.

 Re: Shining vinyl
yeah, that stuff works wonders. i haven't tested it really on vinyl yet, but i use it on acrylic all the time and it's great. if you take a look here, amazon has it for really cheap and a nice 3pc package for any other uses you might need it for. i personally got mine at tap plastics, however...i don't know if they're a store that's all throughout the US. http://www.amazon.com/Novus-Polish-Plas ... B0000WUC7Eedit: nope, tap is pretty much just in california it seems, with a couple locations in oregon.
