Post Postal system fuck up. Tips?
Ok, so I had a toy shipped to me from Hong Kong. The item get to Canada, and then the Canada Post tracking system gives me this message:
"Canada Post processing error; item re-routed. Possible delay".
It's on the road the next day, and is delivered - to a different address, reception signed by someone I don't know.

-I contacted the seller and he had the right address. Canada Post tells me it's not their responsibility and I have to contact Hong Kong Post, which I've asked the seller to do - but I doubt they'll have more info than the local system.

-I tried canada411 and Facebook to find if there was a person by the name of the person who signed living nearby. 7 in canada411, none living close or having a postal code or address close to mine. Over 700 persons by that name on Facebook.

Any idea what I can do to track the item by myself? Aren't Canada Post supposed to at least know in which area (by postal route) it was delivered if not the exact address? I'd try putting up some "lost toy" posters...

I suppose I will get my money back one way or another, but I'd much rather get the rare toy inside...

Hmm... try again with Canada post. I've found I've had different amounts of luck different times. Also, call Canada post rather than your local post office. You can also go to the Canada Post Ombudsman. I don't know how that works or anything, but it seems to be where you would go if they aren't dealing with your issue. http://canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/aboutus/omb ... efault.jsf
That's crazy that someone else would sign for it and they would give you a hard time.
Good luck!
