I was playing Dead Space 2 and loving it... UNTIL I uncovered one of those "game killing" glitches where it makes it impossible for you to progress any further in the game at all. I'm mega-bummed, I was only 3 or so chapters away from completing the game

In chapter 12 there's a part where you have to find a battery and a circuit board to get a train or something running. You're supposed to find the battery first, put it in the slot it needs to go in, and then find the circuit board and use that I guess. What I did, and what I usually do in these sorts of games, is instead of going and putting the battery in immediately, I explored the surrounding area, fought some monsters, that kind of thing, to make sure I don't just jump from one area to the next and miss out on something. When I was doing this I found the circuit board I needed, only out of order, and I then went and saved my game at the save station and quit for a little bit. When I came back, the battery is nowhere to be found, and neither is the circuit board in my inventory... so I'm pretty much screwed. Apparently it's happened to a ton of people, and is a pretty major bug, so it sucks that they didn't catch it before putting the game out.

Hey Jim, what version of the game are you playing if you don't mind me asking? I played PS3 and it went away smooth. I think I downloaded the additional chapter(s?) but haven't played them yet.
