Looks like they are mixing up the storyline which is a good thing as the old one was campy as hell but no less enjoyable. I remember watching it in the theaters with a whole bunch of the neighborhood kids.

This promo is mind-blowing - got me a little excited more than the first scene for the Dark Knight did, and thats saying something.

So everyone knows this isn't a real promo right?
My understanding is he's trying to get hype to get the movie made.

Is the director of that clip trying to use it to convince movie studios that a movie like this NEEDS to be made?

Yeah, this is a promo sell reel. Usually a director / pre & post house will either get pre-funded or foot the bill to produce a reel like this to sell to a studio. Seems that most studio heads need that visual. Gone are the days of "okay, picture this...."

Oh cmon, bad movies can be fun man! I think it looks cool and fun but in a totally stupid way. I'd go see it for kicks.

making teasers like this is how big budget movies get the green light with enough hype. That's how the new Tron got made. Convinced Jeff Bridges to make a teaser and I guess guarantee him a spot in the new movie with enough buzz.

I'd check it out. I wouldn't have high expectations, but I gotta admit that the darker tones work pretty good for MK. Barraka sucks though. Reptile was interesting.

but whatever happens, the trailer makes MK kind of cool to me again. I know they'd fuck it up if they actually had to make it 100minutes longer.
