 Re: bare foot bandit
That's amazing and you can't help but respect what he's been able to accomplish. I just hope he doesn't end up in a cell. I can't imagine a free spirit like this dealing too well locked up.

 Re: bare foot bandit
Since I am in Washington State, I have heard about this guy for awhile. While it may seem romantic, this guy breaks into & robs people repeatedly (it's an island, only so many homes to break into) and has supposedly even shot at a cop. It is amazing that he has not been caught since he walked away from Juvinile Detention, but I hate to say it, he is most likely going to end up being shot by a homeowner during a break in.

 Re: bare foot bandit
I was reading up on him a few weeks ago. While it is a fascinating story, there are definitely some elements that have been romanticized and exaggerated (the barefoot thing, for example). It will be interesting to hear his story first hand someday, provided he doesn't end up dead. He has an interesting future, if he has a future.

 Re: bare foot bandit
Definitely romanticized. And if I caught him in my home trying to snatch some sofubi, I'd fuck him up. I guess what's cool is his age. If it was some 35 year old we'd all be like what a nut case, I bet he's in a local militia and has his survival tactics down so he can survive the Armagedon or Police State. But since he's only a teenager, he just seems out of place, like he was born in the wrong era. It's nice to see someone still that in-tune with the natural world.

I would think sooner or later, he's gotta get caught.

 Re: bare foot bandit
"He evaded a police pursuit by crashing a Mercedes-Benz into a roadside gas storage tank, using the explosion as a diversion to escape back into the woods where, he says, he feels like a Native American."
from my perspective, being full blood Cree, this makes me say >< "WTF!"

Too bad, looks like a nice kid. I hope he stays where he is. Anywhere else (like here in the Carolinas) and he'd been scattergun fodder. Having said that tho, he may still end up dead or maimed if he keeps this shit up.

 Re: bare foot bandit
They should've had a follow up story interviewing his numerous victims. Ask somebody who's been burglarized about the terror they feel when a stranger breaks into their home. Even worse if there are kids in the house.
F this guy, he'll break into the wrong house soon enough and get a face full of buckshot.

There's nothing romantic at all about having a Facebook page.
