Empire was the first movie my parents took me to see as a kid; in a sleeping bag in the back of a pickup truck (we were farmers) at the Silver Moon Drive-in in Plant City Florida.

They started the double feature with A New Hope, showed a few cartoons and then moved to Empire Strikes Back.
if only Kershner could have directed the later films. RIP, Sir.

Empire Strikes Back is one of my favorite movie ever, and of course the best of the SW trilogy
(that being Star Wars, Star Wars Holiday Special and Empire Strikes Back  ).
R.I.P. A sad day it is.

This is a sad day. I remember my Mom taking my cousin and I to see Empire the weekend it opened. I was 9 and it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. I loved Star Wars, but Empire? That movie made such an impression on me. RIP Mr Kershner. I hope you knew how happy you made so many people.
