The movie thread. *Warning: Possible spoilers*
Instead of having us start new threads for specific movies. Let's just keep all movie talk in one thread, yeah? This forum is so cluttered with too many threads already. In here we can talk about movies we are looking forward to, movies we like, movies to recommend, movies to stay away from. I'll start with movies i'm looking forward to in the next couple months. (In release date order) Black Swan 12/03/10. Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHTfDcP0APw True Grit 12/22/10. Tailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GkAH7IUWOE Somewhere 12/22/10. Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVQtL8GQPFA The Illusionist 12/25/10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URxOpz4oVts Biutiful 12/29/10. Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrBHl9Rrx8U The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec 12/31/10. Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3hYXFtOlxQ

Re: The movie thread. *Warning: Possible spoilers*
If there is one movie to watch in December that features Jeff Bridges in it, it's True Grit, not Tron. Trust me.

Re: The movie thread. *Warning: Possible spoilers*
Pretty much looking forward to all of those as well. Going to check out 127 Hours tomorrow. In January EVERYONE must check out Hesher, saw the screening at SDCC introduced by Natalie Portman. FUCKING HILARIOUS. It was a great story, dark, and absolutely hilarious. Joseph Gordon Levitt is the shit and im glad he's getting great rolls. http://www.hesherthemovie.com/And quite a ways off, but I was super excited to hear about Dicaprio doing the Devil In The White CIty, and Daniel Day Lewis doing Lincoln. So much to look forward to.

Oh yeah, i'm gonna also check out 127 hours. Danny Boyle hasn't disappointed me yet, but i've only seen A Life Less Ordinary, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, and Sunshine. Also, Hesher looks pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation kontact.

Oh christ, this is gonna be a clusterfuck of babble. Call me old fashioned, but I like independent threads.
Glad to see Brolin following in his fathers foot steps, just hope he manages a better western performance than his terrible attempt in Jonah Hex.
Peeping Tom has just been released on BD and looks fan-fucking-spastic!!

Re: The movie thread. *Warning: Possible spoilers*
Yeah I know Skullbrain has a rich tradition in having independent threads for everything, but I just think that, since this is a forum for collecting "toys", all movie talk could be confined to a single thread. That way newbies like me won't have to look through hundreds of pages for interesting threads.
Does that make any sense at all? I don't know, that's just how I feel. When I first joined I saw that there were hundreds of threads in each forum, I just felt overwhelmed. I wanted to browse through and see each thread, but that is just insane for someone new like me to do.
I know there is a search function to look for specific topics, but sometimes I just feel like browsing...
Well anyways, I hope you guys like this thread and contribute. Let's talk about movies!

I have unrealistic hopes for The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec movie. Would be cool to see some of Tardi's monsters made into toys !

Isn't "Luc Besson" French for Joel Silver?

The OP meant well, but Do What Thou Wilt in the "Whatever" section. "127 Hours" is an awesome movie, but if you've got a weak stomach, prepare yourself for some grueling scenes. I didn't think it was all THAT gory at the crucial scene, but the body language of other viewers around me was so obviously uptight and disturbed at that point. A friend went to a showing where not one but two people actually passed out. They had to stop the film over 3/4 of the way through and give people passes to come back some other time. James Franco is fantastic. I really like the way Boyle depicted his hallucinatory sequences while stuck in the crevice. Dang good film.

Man, I was hoping this would be good. I guess Luc Besson has lost it ever since The Fifth Element. Thanks for the review Dean, makes me want to watch it even more.

Just saw Reign of Assassins. Awesome Chinese costume martial arts. Bit of shaw brothers with modern aesthetics about our ability to choose and recreate our destinies...a universe of elasticity.
On the flip side johnny to's Vengeance sucked [expletive deleted].

Not surprising, stupid filmmakers should stop trying to do stuff with comics. Did you also see L'Illusionniste de Chomet ? Does it compare to Triplettes de Belleville ? His work with De Crecy is killer !

Dean..I normally agree with 99% of your posts but the ending was terrible. Everything was good except the ending. (POSSIBLE but not really SPOILER) The ending pool scene seen was terrible. Absolutely embarrassing and cheesy. It ruined it. The rest of the movie. Really good.

Anyone watch the new Harry Potter? I've only watched the first 3, and out of those three, I only liked the third one. Are the rest even worth watching?

still haven't been out to the new harry potter yet. heard decent things but it lets a lot ride on the second part.
hesher, 127 hrs, black swan, true grit, biutiful, somewhere. yeah. all look great, been on my list for ages.
as for the awards season stuff earlier in the year, i can recommend winter's bone and the kids are all right. (and from the indie circuit: cyrus, greenberg and catfish)

I like threads for different movies. Kinda burnt out on these loooooooong threads.
When the thread is no longer needed, let it sink.

When the thread is no longer needed, let it sink. So you honestly think a thread for each individual movie I mentioned on the first post is preferable? If so, thats cool, we can let this baby sink faster than the Titanic.

Not every movie needs a thread. Not every band needs a thread. Not every song needs a thread. Not every toy needs a thread.
I have enough faith in people on this board to bring up the good shit and let the rest pass.

I have enough faith in people on this board to bring up the good shit and let the rest pass. My point in starting one thread for movie talk. I know not EVERY movie ever made needs it's own thread. Just the ones I and other board members might think are interesting or movies to stay away from. I'm sorry if a thread like this bothers anyone. So, let's just have people who like contributing have their say. And for those of you that absolutely hate this thread, GTFO. "Bring up the good shit?"
