I'll publicly apologise to Squirms, I am still really impressed with them every time i wander past my detolf, I'm always quietly blown away.
Especially as I thought they were shit in all the pics I'd seen.

I propose the opposite, You ever love a character but the toys sort a disappoint?

The GID XXX-LA was definitely a sleeper hit for me. I was really on the fence but had to pick one up just to see in person. After having it in hand I fell in love. It'll sound crazy, but the detail on the areolae especially really impressed me.


I was excited about finally buying a 13th Day Skullbee, but wasn't really all that enamored with it in person, and it still hasn't grown on me. I love doublecast GID, and it looks awesome in photos, but for whatever reason I am pretty meh about it in my collection. Maybe because the body isn't glow?

I bought the 13th day bees for the shirts and a box to store headers, the toy was a bonus, I really like the color of the double cast vinyl too.

My sleeper one would be the rotofugi chaos, they get passed around a lot but I think it is awesome! My first and only chaos, only because I can't afford to get into them, but it made me like the sculpt as a whole when I didn't get it before.

Opposite would be the warp brain, there is just something about it that bothers me, it might be the gargamel body though, I only like them on gargadeaths so far. My second is the 1/6th brain, it is in total barbie colors and I couldn't deal with it on my shelf, would much prefer the one loco did, I donated mine to the girlfriends collection. Discuss. hahahaha.

I don't have it in just hand yet, but I've been looking for a good Eaton for my collection and passed on all the ones I've seen--especially this one. I never really looked at this one closely, but then I saw that it's clear sparkle (sha-wing!), a great clear smokey paint with a GID head--HOW the hell did I miss this???!!!! Totally slept on this one--but found one at grasshut, so I'll get a chance to apologize in person

Honestly, Real X Head. When I first 'discovered' vinyl, I was all about kaiju and did not 'get' the fight figure style at all... Sanjeev has emails from me where I talk about how weird and disorganized Chaos looks. Something clicked once I handled them for the first time, and as everyone knows I am now all about Real X Head.

Sort of the same thing for Secret Base, really. I had to get into Henshin Cyborg to get the reference and then handle a Brain to really 'get' them. I'm still not into all of the designs, but I really enjoy playing with the Bees, Brains, and Mantis!

It's a slippery slope!

Not much, either way. For the most part if I initially liked it I still like it. If I initially hated it I still hate it. And if I initially mehed it I still meh it.
The exceptions are Bemon and Anraku, but it's also highly dependent on colorway. Initially I thought Bemon sucked, but now I love 'em (depending on color)...such a mischievous fucker. And Anraku...I don't ever plan on owning any, but I finally appreciate a good portion of the sculpts and absolutely love some of them when they're painted up right.
Oh - Toxic Phantom! Initially I was kinda meh on it, but now I really like it!
And the 1/6 'Brain is one of the best 'Brains evar! Right up there with Sun and Forest!

Project 1/6 and Warp are two of my most favorite pieces.

Yeah, I do like Patty Power. I bought one for my wife because she's obsessed with all things cheeseburger.

My mom like the MF and Super7 designs in general... she's big on the Mogolion, Rose, Pocket MB, Big Sal, and the other cutesy ones, but she hates Patty Power.

At the same time, I think the Warp Brain is rad and wouldn't mind grabbing one, but the 1/6 Brain does nothing for me.

Paul's Biter-man and L'amour's Necromon were toys I definitely should not have passed on when I was at SDCC last year. Absolutely regretting it considering that I don't know where I could find either of them now.

Oh, I'd also like to say I'm sorry to my first and only (so far) 12" Skull Toys fig. I shouldn't have sold you off like that, but I was in dire need of money. I sometimes think about you and how you were so fun to pose around. Hopefully we meet again one day...

I hated it, may people did.
Now i LOVE it.

I cannot forget the day when i was alerted to the 1st green 2head release. I rushed immediately to CKA, and there were still a couple left. I picked one up, looked at it and heard voices in my head "these are too expensive" and "u dun really like the colours". In the end i left without buying.
Of course now I am searching for it and when i do find it, I cannot bring myself to buy at several times over the price i passed it for.

On the other end, zollmen's maza, mad baron, etc poor weight & balance is quite a bummer.

It was King Ghidorah for me. My first exposure where some of the larger versions which were way to ornate for my taste. Reminded me more of Fantasy figures that you might find in some shop where they sale crystals and incense. Then I saw some of the more stylized ones with stubby wings and shorter necks and I was hooked.
