What is the admission price for SDCC? I guess depending on how deep you roll it can have quiet a range. I unfortunately don't think I will even be able to convince my girlfriend to use our vacation time to go to a comic convention. She very understanding but I think this would be where the line gets drawn.

We hit up Iceland, Germany, France and Switzerland for about $3,000 and that included car rental and decent hotels. Plus a suitcase full of swag. Of course this was before the Euro conversion... I think next year is going to kill us.

i have a good job and i dropped an entire paycheck. i think next year i'll drop two paychecks. luckily i didn't have to spring for a hotel, even though i think a hotel might have been cheaper considering the ridiculous parking prices, especially for lots that were a good 15 blocks away from the convention center.

$665 for airfare, hotel, and comic con admission. that means missy paid the same because everything was split.

then I easily spent over $1000 on toys, food, and transportation while I was there.

My Hotel was pretty expensive! I droped a grip on toys! Then the dinners, drinks, rental car, passes for two friends, gas in Cal at $3.50 a gal, did I mention the hotel! I also hooked up my mom and my best friends girlfriend with a day spa at the hotel. Last year was much cheaper, I just splurged this year. You could make the trip for much less, I just wanted to make sure my mom and friends had a good time this year! :D

unless you want to "enjoy" the con
and the whole hand painted pushead items (i wouldve gone for that)
it is cheaper
most of the exclusives from last year were available afterwards.. and even sold out ones weren't super marked up

what skylar said about the airfare/hotel/etc, but i spent less on toys than him. i probably spent around a grand total, but i didn't do all the math. i also tend to buy cheaper toys than most of you ballers though.

As for going to Japan to experience the "culture", what do you think SDCC is ?Its a Pop Culture show!I love JP culture, but this is American Pop Culture at its best.Unless youve been to the Con, I dont think you can judge how much you would or wouldnt spend, the place is huge and its fuckin mezmerizing. It is literally a Nerd/Fanboy/Pop Culture Geeks paradise.

i heard SDCC is otherwise known as Nerd Prom since its the biggest event for nerds to meet, greet, and still not have sex.

saw a funny vid about it on Yahoo. any confirmation of this?
