I'll second more smoking corp and more dokuroman!

bryce_r wrote:Gargamel- hands down will be awesome. Yes...I understand that they can make a lot of money with the gazillion 1-offs (even though they are now a bit boring for me) but I hope to see the following regular releases.

Crouching mibora (hawaii version)
Fight figure (everyone says they are dead but if they can bring back the smoking corp...then I have hope)
Full size deathra (hawaii)
Dokuroman

Anyway...I can't believe there aren't any teaser pictures yet.

The Tarantulas have been releasing some interesting and cool stuff, unfortunately haven't been able to score any. Here's a peep to their SDCC projects.

Only kidding. It's from an old Rakugaki contest. akum6n forwarded me the link two years ago. I just am baffled that it's July and no toy pictures. I used to like sifting through the good and bad stuff.

I actually miss those BxH LA hands that only Scary Andy could love.

Here's a Frankenberry hotwheels exclusive.

Never has an SDCC exclusive been so easy to get hold of . . . :D

It'd be cool if no teaser pics for anything went up. Just a total explosion of new crap for people who go to see for the first time. Sounds more exciting then.

I feel like not much is exciting about SDCC anymore and I haven't been since 2006. There's loads of teasers, we kinda can guess what will be hitting and what won't. We know who'll most likely have 1-off's and all that. Almost everything makes itself available afterwords somehow and for not too bad of prices. Copy-Paste-Repeat.

I mean other then the fun in-person interaction/parties/outings/etc. nothing seems exciting. I think the last thing that excited me was when Mori hit it for the first time. You had no clue what and how much he was dropping. But he's not there this year.

I feel like a lot of what was exciting was not knowing what was going to hit, and I mean that fully. Not just "Oh I wonder what Zag will be there" because you KNOW there'll be a Zag. Or "I wonder what so-and-so's 1-off's will be like?" Again, you KNOW there will be 1-offs by a number of makers. It was exciting when we totally DIDN'T know and that shit just popped up. Now it seems so predictable. Not that there SHOULDN'T be Zags and 1-off's etc, but I feel like no one is bringing anything exciting (though very good!) anymore. Where are the major exciting surprises? The "OH DAMN I HAD NO CLUE THAT WOULD EVEN SHOW UP!" Where are you?

Or have I just gotten jaded and old and crusty? Am I doomed to rip on n00bz?! Should I grow an Alan Moore beard and talk shit about everything new and only glorify the past? WHAT HAS HAPPENED?!

One word: Pushead

But I see where it would be fun not knowing anything released. personally, i like seeing a couple preview pics just to get a feel of what will be there. i feel like if everything was a surprise i might freak out and buy too much. with preview pics, i can somewhat put it on my sdcc want list or not.

I'm excited to hang out with people, there is tons of stuff that I'm seeing that I want, and there are events and panels I'm interested in.

Win win for me.

This alone is already exciting.
Plus gargamel's surprises, plus....
I saw the HH preview of WF and I do think SDCC this year is many times more exciting than WF.
Great for the attendees.

Smash Tokyo Toys has a toy release at SDCC but it's mainstream so probably not the scene here. Looks like this:

Yep, definitely not the scene here. Should probably take that down...

Comic Con is always filled with surprises.

One highlight for me was getting to meet Park Chan Wook with boardmembers rhinomilk and smilingidiot in 09.
Still giddy from that evening.

Yea, you never know what surprises there are until it happens.
Best memory was from last year when Natalie Portman hit on me.
That's one experience I'll never forget.

Nope - this is the one time of year, and the one thread, when anything goes. It's a tradition to post any and all SDCC spoilers, regardless of maker:
