I think this is the edge we've all been looking for in our toys...

These have been around for a while now and some people on here really love their disney.
Not sure if you are trying to score some kind of hardcore points for (not even really) making fun of them. Cool for you I guess.

Is it a competition between n00bs who can provoke the biggest hazing?

Not directed at sonicnoise directly but the n00b influx in general and even some regulars these days . . . . Trying too hard to create an impression, not following the 'rules' (even the unwritten ones), being needy, self-entitled or generally trying to be Mr 'Big Dick' make me (and I imagine a large majority of the Skullbrain community) NOT want to help you out, hook you up, advise or in any way benefit you or your collecting habits . . . just the way it is!

It seems to be a yearly post, but play nice and good things will happen, be a wanker and not so much . . . :?

IMO The vinylmation is a weak [expletive deleted] rip off which was a weak Be@rbrick rip off . . . but it's Disney so by default gets a free pass!

Roll on Friday!

I don't buy them, but I do like some of them for the theming they incorporate. I do collect pins though, which I suppose puts me on the uncool kids list. Who cares, I'm buying what I like and not trying to impress anyone else.

Some really good friends do collect them, more power to them.

This has been my philosophy for a number of years now, I do what I like regardless of anybody's approval or disdain . It's worked out pretty well for me.

Thanks Matt/fletch this, I was shocked to be asked to be a part of it. I was definitely influenced by the old MPC Pirates model kits. I have another one coming up too. I wouldn't mind weaseling my way into getting a production piece made !

I just thought all of us would have a laugh at the punk rock version that I linked directly to. Hence the subject line that included "... VMHC!!!" and not, "WOW! Have you seen these crappy Disney toys? What are they thinking?"

Not bagging on the vinylmation figure itself, and I'm not concerned if I was or wasn't harsh enough to impress anyone. Just sharing, not trying to impress.

I hope Jeff (congrats, by the way) gets a production piece... I'd love to add it to the few other vinylmation figs that I've got. I like the figure, but most of the designs on these are really terrible, and the VMxHC struck as particularly odd/bad, but then again it didn't...

Like others have said, collect what you like, it's all for fun. You don't have to look at the toys on my shelf, I do.

Thanks! For me it is really odd that I have been asked to be a part of anything related to Disney. Besides being a lifelong influence, it's like a fantasy life goal. But honestly I feel like it's some sort of punk rock coup that I managed to weasel my way in there. Kind of like the art stuff I've done for Toyota/Scion. But it means more to me to be in Hobby Japan or a cool toy blog if that makes any sense.
