The tesla / edison shirt might not look the coolest but it's the only shirt that makes sense.

Really? It doesn't seem like any of those make sense. They are band font juxtaposed with inventors and scientists and scholars. I think they look kind of cool but I don't think there is any inherent logic involved.

Yea, I don't think the concept was to pair bands logos with geniuses names in a clever connection kind of way. I took it more as rock gods of the intellectual world kind of thing with a dash of irony. They gave me a good chuckle and there a couple I would totally wear. Feel free to hijack with other odd or interesting shirts.

Any affiliation between Mondo and those "Cinefile" guys..? :? Just wondering because they're claiming "the design is 100% CineFileVideo" in regards to the Herzog one...

I've seen the Herzog shirt around for a while now, and it never fails to make me smile. I spied one on a fellow boardie in a post of his and asked him what the story was. He tipped me to the CineFile site, and almost every one of their designs makes me happy whenever I think of it.
I could be wrong, but I'd guess the Thinkers 'n Rock people took the bootleg lettering concept from the cinema shirt folks --- I prefer the film variants as they took the time to get every detail of the lift spot on. It takes a second for the brain to register the schism between visual familiarity and textual content, producing a subliminal jolt before the pieces fit back together. This leads to laughter and appreciation, for me at least.
The smart guys tees cut serious corners on matching up all the little design aspects that make the original logos so satisfying, leading to a "funny" wearable that you see and go, Oh, I get it. It's over before it started. Compare any of the two's shirts that take on the same band and maybe you'll agree.

Also, Bella Tarr is the shit and Ben Franklin was a dick.

tesla = AC - Tesla's patents and theoretical work formed the basis of modern alternating current (AC) electric power systems
edison = DC - The first commercial electric power transmission (developed by Thomas Edison in the late nineteenth century) used direct current.

I thought it was clever. The others, eh.
