 Re: RIP Mike Kelley
That's sad, I've been digging him since the early 90's. Great minds think alone, It would be nice to be able to break through and let them know they aren't on their own. RIP.

 Re: RIP Mike Kelley
Yes, this is very sad indeed. He was a reference point for many students during my art school years and catholic tastes remains one of my favorite art books that I've often gone back to across the years. Not to mention Destroy All Monsters. RIP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD-PvgX1mJA

 Re: RIP Mike Kelley
Bummed out all over again, as happens at some point almost every time I think of him. Better to celebrate him, though, eh? I just found this quote, which made me smile: “I love how mad Mike's work can make some people. Isn't that the job of contemporary art? To infuriate? The real naysayers who can't see the reverse beauty of Mike's sculptures or paintings should be outraged because they secretly know that his art does hate them and they deserve it.” - John Waters Bummed on an entirely different level that I somehow managed to know nothing about this when it was happening. Anyone here make it over?

^^^^^ I clearly did not attend this exhibit, but have been to the retrospective at the Geffen in LA. It is unbelievably massive and extensive. I think I spent 3-4 hours trying to get through the exhibit and upon leaving realized I needed to go back. Here's a link if you haven't already taken a gander; http://sites.moca.org/the-curve/2014/03/22/mike-kelley/The exhibit closes today
