Post NOISE!
We got threads about 90s electronic, doom and and whatever you're listening too. But what about some noise-rock music?!

Lightning Bolt, Boredoms, Death Grips (?), Hella, or anything with a loud, rocking or thrashing sound that breaks speakers and ear drums, but might also make you nod your head with some banging beat of a drum.
Heck, even some experimental glitched, electronic music would fit into play!

Make some noise!

I like most artists on labels such as Ant-Zen, Hands, Pflichtkauf, Galakthorro, Spectre and CMI.

Haus Arafna
This Morn' Omina
Thorofon
Ah Cama-Sotz
Bad Sector
Flint Glass
Empusae
Keef Baker
Millipede
Contagious Orgasm
Synapscape
Asche
Hecq

Btw, I ordered a Law- Rah Collective - Inspiration cd on Ant-Zen by mistake. I forgot I already have it. It is still sealed in original packaging. If anyone wants to trade with similar stuff, let me know.

Up till the early 2000' I was into noise and PE.
Then I had my kids and it became all Eraserhead for me.
Still, I'm a big Nordvargr fan (HH9, Vargr ...) BDN, old Download. I'm loosing memory here : (

Local old school acts Ames Sanglantes, World Downfall are great too.

^ I used to like a lot of that stuff (seeing Ah Cama-Sotz at WGT was an incredible experience). Rhythmic noise / martial industrial / neofolk was my jam for quite a few years, but not so much anymore. Adding to that list: In Slaughter Natives, Klangstabil, Xotox, Feindflug, Heimatærde, Winterkälte, Converter, KiEw and the whole Mechanismz label always had exceptional output. I've been out of the loop for at least six or seven years, so I'm not sure what's become of that genre lately.

As far as what IV is talking about -- Young Widows, Helms Alee, KEN mode and especially Taint are on the top of the list for me.

I listen to too much different music.

Yeah, this is what started it all for me. Still one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time!

I also recall Locusts, along with Pink & Green.

I would also throw Black Dice up in here. Some good, experimental dance noise.

I still haven't found anyone that has come close or sounds like Lightning Bolt. And maybe that's a good thing. I used to be heavy into noise rock a couple of years ago, but lately its been hip-hop/instrumental stuff. But I also keep a good noisy album on the Shuffle at all times.

Will give a listen through some of your recommendations!

Wolf eyes! Awesome band!
Keiji Haino is incredible too, but I'm not sure if he fits in the noise bracket.
Oh and let's not forget Jandek!

Before i moved to portland i was playing noise and organizing events in chicago under the names ghost&flower, staticrhythmicstatic and ATS collective.

My sound was similar to jan jelnik. A gentler form of noise.

I had to listen to all of Jandek's albums for an article I wrote for Sweet Dreams (Japanwse music/art mag). Longest month of my life. My wife threatened divorce.

Was anyone on here ever into the Blood Brothers? They were and are still one of my favorite bands. I don't know if I would call them a straight up noise band, but they have a lot of noise/dissonance elements.

I was lucky enough to see them 3 times before they split. I wanna say it was 2003, 2005, and 2006 - somewhere around that time.

I liked most of the ThreeOneG bands, though.

Has anyone else ever seen that episode of Springer that Justin from the Locust in on?

Nobody mentioning Arab on Radar? I would have thought their 7" with Locust, would have gotten them a mention, also Whirlwind Heat's early work.

I think I saw blood brothers 4 times. Once as a headliner, the other times as an opening act. Each time out they were booed or mostly heckled. My wife and I jammed though. They were awesome live. the other bands that came out of there (neon blonde and jaguar love) each had ok moments on their respective albums.

They were another band on ThreeOneG records. I think they rule pretty hard.

Did anyone hear "Dynamite with a Laser Beam - Queen as Heard Through the Meat Grinder." It has all the bands from this label - Blood Brothers, Arab on Radar, Locust, Cattle Decapitation, Melt Banana, all covering Queen songs. Sick!

Merzbow, Japanther, Acid Mothers Temple... just a few that are coming back to mind.

Just checked out Wolf Eyes. Wow. Don't know how I missed these guys, but they are blasting! And Arab on the Radar is one I never could find to listen, but now iTunes has got their stuff, and it sounds rocking!

By the way, I might add Death Grips - The Money Store, their latest album, on the list. Its like a blend of Hella, hip-hop and some Merzbow and it jams hard. Check it out!
