Just wanted to be a dork and tell everyone I went to see Metallica last night here in Tokyo. They played the entire Master Of Puppets in sequence, I wanted to poop and I think the chick next to me did.

rad...did it sound good? how was lars' drumming? was james' voice ok?

Lars was regular. I have never been stoked on his playing, the Mastodon drummer on the other hand destroys. James' voice has really changed, its not as rough as it used to be.

That's awesome they played the whole album through. Unfortunately, they've been on a steady decline musically for at least the last 10 years. Around the "And Justice For All" period, they were my favorite band but now I could care less if they even put albums out...

Saw them for Justice and they fucking killed!!!!Now not so much..

c'mon guys, don't give up on Metallica! They may still have another Master or RtL left in their systems...hopefully massive fame and fortune didn't suck all the balls out of the band...

My friend SHelley went to Tokyo on SUnday, and missed the show by a day I think. Shelley is good friends with Kirk, so I get to hear about parties in Sonoma, and the constant promise of a good seat when they come into town...maybe one day. Anyway, apparently she told him about my collection and was raving about SecretBase and stuff, and he was most interested...apparently.

Useless personal trivia: Oh yeah, I remember years ago, around MOP time, seeing Lars in Tower Records in Picadilly Circus perusing the mags, and wearing a tee saying something like 7 million dollar and 18 months, still no album....which I guessed was in reference to Def Leppards mammoth bill/time followup to Pyromania....
