WHAT? another new member? Its not like the sofubi market isn't saturated enough! and here we have yet another twat fighting for that minutely impossible chance of scoring some hyped up overrated shitty lottery figure.

Yup i pretty much summed up and spelt out what's in everyone's head.

Cut to the chase, I'm a 28 year old Singaporean collector ( you don't see much of us here because this shit don't come easy, where we live ) who started collecting sofubi since the end of last year, after being lured down this slippery slope by a fellow countrymen who is a Sber. Been snooping around here for about 7 months and finally found some courage to do an intro; despite the growing animosity between boardies ( i know you guys still love each other ).

Anyhoo heres what i have amassed over the months, and i cannot be more grateful towards some really awesome boardies who saw past my low post counts and threw me some really great deals.

Hey 'Briners,

Art-Whore/Josh G. here; living in ConvictTown (Australia).

...discovered Skullbrain thanks to the GalacticJerkbags forum + site.

I've been collecting toys since i was 8 (born 1985) thanks to Star Wars, Toxic Crusaders + TMNT. I got exposed to Japanese toys on a trip in 2003 but had stopped buying toys at that stage. THEN i discovered 'Suckadelic' in 2009 and got back in hard. From there i re-discovered my love of sofubi + kaiju as well.

Interests:

* 'Splurrt'
* 'MVH'
* 'Siccaluna'
* Michael Skattum
* Bwana Spoons
* L'Amour Supreme
* 'Suckadelic' - resin artist mainly
* 'Killer Botlegs' - resin too
* and some others here and there

I also take shitty photos of my toys getting up to shenanigans and post on the ole Instagram - @luddite_shutter

AND i am a general information whore, so i have set up an art blog too for interviews mainly: http://www.art-whore.blogspot.com

Happy to be a hater, a lover and a shit-stirrer.

Hello basically!

Hello

My name is Chris, I go by Toph, Topher, or Topheroy
My very modest collection consists of Super7 and Maxtoyco figures, as well as a mix of custom work from various artists.
I have a passion for painting toys. I see some of my work in collections, here on skullbrain.

I will post some of my paintwork in the custom thread.

Ok, my name is Edgar, i live in CA, had been trying to join this forum for quite a while but fortunately today i was finally able to, anyways, i've been collecting vinyl figures for almost 2 years now, used to be hooked on Kidrobot, [expletive deleted], and stuff like that but not that long ago i got inducted into kaiju (Pseudomorphism Show @ TAG was where i bought my first kaiju pieces), now im focused on collecting Wilkowski, Paul Kaiju, MVH, Max Toy CO, SHIKARUNA aka SICCALUNA, and last but not least i like Skelves (which r not kaiju), also around 2 weeks ago i began airbrushing figures as well and hopefully someday i will b able to come up with a toy, ain't that crazy? So that's me. :)

These are my first custom painted figures,

Hi there,
Name is Nico. New to the board, new to kaiju. Hope to get some information on toys I like and learn and discuss about kaiju in general here.
Beside kaiju, I'm interested in some art scene, with people like Antoine Bernhart, Trevor Brown, Daisuke Ichiba, Pakito Bolino, Fredox to name a few. And, well, first time I saw those 'neo kaiju' guys, it felt like those drawings am into had be given life too.

See you on the board !

Hi Nico, welcome to the board. You forgot to tell us what toys you like.
Good start for your first post, here you can find a lot of kaiju and sufubi toys, just keep an eye on the sell thread and be patient.

Hello everybody.

My name is Ed and I love painting anything that I can get my grubby little hands on.
Toys have always had a big impact in my life. They're like tiny royal icons. I grew up with TMNT, Toxic Crusaders, Dollar Store Godzillas, The Simpsons and Nicktoons.

I've still got my tiny 90's icons around here and there, but these days I'm more partial to Japanese vinyl, and wacky resin releases.

I'm a big fan of Secret Base, Buta No Hana, Bwana Spoons, Thrift Store Treasures, and anything that clicks that slimy, neon colored, gaudy part of my brain.

Long time lurker.
Figured I'd finally start posting.

Feels good to break through.

Thanks Dago !

Actually, I didn't mention any 'cause I don't feel like I know enough to really have develop a taste just yet. But here is a non exhaustive list of toys that caught my eyes so far (seems all are crazy popular too...) : Bemon, MVH Ollie and Death Sludge Demon, Kumon, The Last Kaiju and the infamous Boryokyu Genjin. And I like them best in crazy bright colorways that somehow goes together. For that last point, the two best I've seen so far are Bemon and Ollie.
But as I said, I believe one as to first learn a bit and 'train' his eyes in order to really develop a taste for something.

Greetings and salutations. Just got accepted today, thank you for having me. My real name is Robert. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Straight Edge for ten years, collecting toys only for nearly four. Here's my story as short as I can make it:

I used to be a total phone nerd and only got into collecting because I was, and still am, an avid Android user, and Dead Zebra released the Android Minis. A local shop in my city, Red Hot Robot(R.I.P.), carried them. Upon pickin' up my case I basically discovered an entirely new world. As you can only assume, KR was the overwhelming factor. Up until about a year ago, that's all I collected, amongst other various pieces. About a year and a half ago, I bought my first two Secret Base pieces, Bag Head fighter and Hello Kitty skull face, and instantly fell in love. Only problem was pricing. I still didn't know much about kaiju or its world, and had a naive mentality that equated the size of the toy to its price. I've been a strong supporter of Lulubell Toys in my state, and as such, I spend a lot of time frequenting the shop and hangin' with Amy. Over the past year she's been educating me and presenting me with many artists, and the processes it takes to make kaiju. Obviously it's vastly superior to that of Western vinyl in terms of quality, design and aesthetic. Since then, I've been hooked. Mainly on Secret Base(as it's slowly growing), but I dig on a lot of Real x Head, Cure Toys and Gargamel.

I've watched these boards for a while now, finding the answers to all questions I've had [so far]. I'm mainly here to build up my collection(hopefully with your graces and help), further educate myself and attempt to contribute and solidify my place in this community. Love, peace and chicken grease.
