Re: Vancouver BC: roll call
welcome to yawncouver : )
I've been here 2 years now. Kaiju-wise, sad to say I've never seen anything happening. I once picked up a bagged eyezon at a comic store but that's it.
In terms of toys, there are only 2 places i visit regularly, both are comic shops:
RX comics on Main Street. He brings in Super 7 pieces at times, and stocks some great art books, incl. things like Skinner's latest book. Be sure to check along the highest shelves, sometimes you can spot something cool.
The second store is
Metropolis Comics just across the road from the Metrotown mall. Toy wise, it's sadly only designer vinyl shit, but if you're into comics, it's the best shop in town. (He also brings in 3A (but only if you order it), and is big on Transformers.)
There's also an online 3A dealer that's Vancouver based. He lets you pick stuff up locally.
http://www.vinylpurgatory.com/Much further afield - think it's like a one hour drive from downtown - is
toy traders. I discovered these guys at the Vancouver Comic Convention. They stock Gentle Giant stuff, and vintage American toys (he man, thundercats etc.)
Lastly, Vancouver had their first
big comic convention last year.. Keep a look out for it next year.
Welcome to the hood. The good news is your only a 6 hour drive from Portland! Who knows though, if we discover a couple of skullbrainers in these parts we could hook up a trade fest! : ) (i think there is one or two floating around)
If you find out about anything cool, give me a heads up ; )
