Hi Skullbrain, How Are You? It's Been Awhile...
Hi Skullbrain friends of yesteryear! I had to disappear for awhile to get married and finish writing a novel. My own collection and art production got put on the back burner for a couple of years. I'm trying to catch up with all the new vinyl toys and resin art that have been made since I took my break from the outside world, but there's so much to see!
Here's a quick update about me and Apocalypse Popsicle -
Let me just say that I never intended to abandon the board but a hiatus was necessary. Book writing makes for a stilted psyche in the uberboy where I literally can't do normal things properly. The immersion into the characters' lives diminishes my own to an almost distressing extent. Anyway, that's all done for now and I'm about to dive back into the Apocalypse Popsicle factory and start working on my unique and tasty plastic delights.
For the month of December, I will be in upstate NY working exclusively on my plastic work while on fellowship as an artist-in-residence at the Wassaic Project. The studio/gallery space there has been converted from old mill and farming buildings and culminates yearly with the summer Wassaic Festival in early August.
For the next couple of weeks, I'll be prepping for the month-long residence at my family's house in NJ before moving up to the farmhouses and studio space in Dec.
If you want to check out the cool buildings or get more info about the organization you can go here-
