Its coming up real soon. I have not heard anything about any kaiju-themed gatherings this year. Anyone have any knowledge of any goings-on?

I'd like to know that too - as well as info about any events taking place that might be of interest to people on this board. Truth be told, though, I probably won't make it this year because of another commitment.

Anyone who went last year, how were the crowds? That's the real downside of Basel for me - it keeps getting bigger to the point where it becomes unpleasant - to say nothing of trying to park in Wynwood.

It was definitely crowded, but not uncomfortably so. I avoided the convention center and just hit the galleries and the area where the wall paintings were being done. Had an unbelievable time! So did the wife and kids. Parking and traffic were not pleasant, but not as bad as expected.

The artwork in the galleries was a mix - some great, some so-so, and some so pitifully bad that my kids were even making fun of it.

I will be trying to make it down for a day this year. I missed last year, but the year before was great.
