I need your help identifying this toy. He's five inches tall, made of hard plastic, no points of articulation, probably made in U.S.......has"Pat.Pend" and the copyright c in a circle thingy on his back.....no other markings. I think he's about 40-50 years old. I figure some of you hardcore collectors may know something about him................

thanks,
EFS

I think that hardcore collector is defined here by knowing Secret Base production numbers, or identifying an original bullmark hedorah. That's no slight, it's just the sphere that most people here are into.

I would maybe check some antique toy sites and forums...

It looks like a really interesting toy. Are there holes in the dude's fists? maybe he's a trapeze artist!

oh I know that most everyone here is mainly into Secret Base, etc.....but I also know that at least a few people here collect all kinds of toys, including older stuff, and from reading some of the threads here, that there are a few with a ton of toy knowledge in general, as well. I was just throwing it out there, hoping for a miracle. This isn't the only forum I've asked for help with this. What the heck, I figure the more people I ask..........

I may be way off-base, but this guy reminds me of these Archer plastic
spacemen from the 50's.

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ARCHER-HARD ... dZViewItem

Is he hollow plastic? He looks like maybe he was robot designed to go with these spacemen. This is not my auction, I am just using the pic as reference. I do have a couple of the spacemen, and they are hollow metallic-looking plastic and about 5 inches tall.

Hope this helps!

wow, they DO look very similar! My robot isn't hollow, but that doesn't mean he's not from the same company, maybe just an older or newer version. Dude, thanks alot for showing that to me. I think I'm gonna have to bid on those spacemen, they rule!

Hi Enemy,

I don't know if I solved the mystery; the Archer spacemen are just the closest thing I have seen to your robot figure. There used to be a magazine called Plastic Figure and Playset Collector. which had a lot of great info and you could even send in pix of figures to be ID' ed; unfortunately, it is no longer published. If I think of any more possibilities on the origin of your roboit, I will let you know.
