I don't know what to say here... The man was a horrible bigot, but I hate to glorify his passing one way or the other. Wait... I've got songs for this:

Ol' Fred had been excommunicated from the racket some time ago. Allegedly a Westboro rep thanked God for killing him on Twitter today. Unfortunately Margie Phelps is still very active as is the whole family of litigious trolls.

I'm thinking of revisiting Kevin Smith's "Red State" in "honor" of Phelps' memory.

From what I understand, he was in process(if not already) of being kicked out of his own church for "growing soft" towards their practices. His family took over the church long before his death, though. They're also not giving him a funeral because they don't want people protesting it.

I'm stoked there's one less worthless sack of shit on thus planet. But I won't be happy until Westboro's grounds are napalmed.

Protesting the funeral would just make him more of a martyr. Glad he is gone and maybe people can learn from this and move on from all the hate.
