I'm all for a good conspiracy theory, but even then this was total BS.

Been there, done that yesterday evening. Favorite parts are GID toys being "occultic" per se, because they, like, glow in the dark and the bit about E.T. being basically a gay Jesus or something. Too bad that Greenwald guy seems so mortified by the concept of homosexuality that he doesn't ask Phillips to elaborate.

And yeah, that cover art is fantastic. Apparently Mr. Phillips was scared the most of getting his ass sued to hell. The one for "Saturday Morning Mind Control" is even better imo, although not as bootleggy...
