Don't we get enough fakes news, hoaxes and photoshopped images on the internet during the other 364 days in the year?

I've been enjoying Google's "prank" this year. I really hope that something rad comes from this partnership with Nintendo. And yes, it works on the maps app.

I got this piece of junkmail in my work e-mail:

This wasnt necessarily on the internet but thats where i saw it: Sizzle Pie pizza in Portland put fake traffice tickets on a bunch of cars but they were actially coupons for a free slice!! Pretty awesome imo, also thinkgeeks fake products are always a good time. Theres a couple this year that i hope get made like a beer stein styled beer can holder and a usb car charger that looks like a flux capictor!!

Precisely why I avoided the internet like the plague yesterday... Most of my friends don't participate in April Fool's, so it's so dang hard to tell who actually is.

I had a girl on my facebook post photos of her with a bruised and bloody face (make up but realistic enough) saying she was in a car accident.. Another guy saying he lost his job and was made redundant, both claiming April Fools afterwards. Pretty fucked and not funny.. Maybe it's just an Australian thing, but those jokes were lame.

This is classy . . . even the victims would have seen the funny side!

All the other boy crying wolf 'jokes' are weak!

Some buddies of mine were coming to pick me up for lunch yesterday, and on the way the guy driving got pulled over and was given a pretty huge ticket. They texted me to let me know about it and that they weren't coming, but I was convinced that it was an April Fools joke, so I waited an hour past when they were supposed to show up before I conceded that they really weren't coming.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who's grumpy about all the dumbness on 4/1. For me the worst thing about yesterday wasn't that everyone and their dog pulled some sort of prank or hoax, it's that so few of them were witty, clever, or funny. But then, that kinda goes for what passes for humor on the 'net in general ... usually quick-fix snark. Argh, get off my lawn!

Nothing new, just a bunch of re-run jokes.

I had a few friends post pregnancy stuff, then more friends posting how offensive it is to people who can't have kids/have lost kids, then people posting to lighten up... giant flame wars ensued.

I hate it.

You have no idea how many of my friends broke out the pitchforks against pregnancy stuff.
I have zero desire to have kids, so maybe I don't really understand it, but I just wanted nothing more than to scream at them for being so damn sensitive.
Sure, pregnancy jokes on April Fool's are lame and unoriginal, but not everything has to be a personal attack. Also if the internet is upsetting, you can just turn the computer off... That's what I did. Wasn't in the mood for April Fool's drama.

Haha yeah I eventually gave up and walked and got some lunch. I told my friend today that it was funny, that cop ended up being the one who pranked me on April Fools, since his ticket made me sit at my desk and question my friends for an hour.
