Al Feldstein was drawing monsters from his imagination before Godzilla came to screen. He died today.

It was yesterday actually, but sad day nonetheless. He deserves to be recognized with the likes Kirby, Wally Wood and others for helping comics become what they are today.

Always sad when an artist can no longer create new work..

The first painting looks to use similar techniques to Al Jaffee's artwork (no wonder as I'm sure they spent many years working in the same office).. the style of shading, highlights.. would be great to track down a step by step of how these guys painted pictures. Really makes the details pop off the page!
