 masters of the universe...
i just got the new issue of Toyfare, and the cover story is the new Mattel line of MOTU figs coming out. Amazing pieces! I hated the line that came out about 5-6 years ago. waaaaay to buff to the point that the heads seemed to pop out of the chest of a steroid torso! the new ones are basically a mix of the old and more recent, but have the classic structure and feel to them. y'all MOTU fans should check them out. Toyfare #134 or probably somewhere on the web....

 Re: masters of the universe...
I checked it out last night at meltdown.
these look ok but I still far prefer the vintage OG toys to anything released since. the joints look terrible, they are articulated at the elbow and knee with new streamline style joints but the rest of the figure is going for a vintage feel. I dont think it meshes well and would prefer no elbow articulation.

i want to see trap jaw Yeah they're definately highly detailed but i gotta agree with Tavaro, those joints pretty much suck. When displayed properly the back of the knees will less irritate.

With removable bra? It would be sweet to see the Hordak Horde redone

 Re: masters of the universe...
I love He-Man, it's what got me into collecting toys... Well actually my parents collected He-Man and I played with them.
I still have all of them though. I'd rather have the mangled, slime crusted, toys from my youth any day over these.
Plus it looks like He-Man is wearing eye make up.

They look pretty good and not overly done. I hate when the try to revamp a toy line and make the figures to articulated and extreme. Sometimes the subtle changes work.

I think these are about as articulated as can be. the ankle, the knee the hip the elbow, etc etc. just leave it alone mattel. you got it right the first time. no one needs to pose these like a ballerina in mid pirouette. add: these pics dont look too bad, but when you see them in print and in person the joints and metal brads/connectors really stand out.

 Re: masters of the universe...
I think they're pretty cool, I love the originals though. My only gripe was that they were all standing in the 'I am really constipated and am about to drop the biggest deuce ever' pose.

God dammit. Something else I want. Beastman looks bad ass. Can't wait to see Skelletor, Trapjaw and Merman. Always liked the bad guys most.

Yeah...too articulated. But I guess I meant more along the lines of a super buff super articulated figure. Man, I have so many grammatical errors in those sentences.

 Re: masters of the universe...
when I was younger I was really into the marvel universe. I told my dad if I had the choice of being a super-hero or super-villain I would choose to be a villain. I think they are so much more interesting and their design/costumes are 10x better.
he took it really hard and did not approve. he thought I was going to be a bad person resulting from the comics. I remember the look in his eyes of frustration... he was not happy and tried to convince me the heros were better. NO WAY!

 Re: masters of the universe...
Cartoon villains have always been way cooler. I have thought that from a very young age too.
The new MotUC line is cool. I also liked the one from a few years back, but never collected any of them.
Bring on Mosquitor, Hordak, Mantenna, etc.

 Re: masters of the universe...
I had a huge He-man collection when I was a kid, HUGE! I used to to collect the revamp figures back in 2003 also.I have to say these new figures have the best of both worlds, old school style with update articulation and size.I cant wait for these. So far this past year the new NECA TMNT and new Hasbro GI JOEs are my favorite toys, and these look like they will be right up there with them.

 Re: masters of the universe...
I was always the same, especially with GI Joes. I mean, the good guys were usually really boring. "OK, here's a buff guy in a t-shirt with a bazooka." Ho-hum. But for COBRA it was all "Here's a guy covered head-to-foot in neon orange and blue body armor with a big giant shield and a wicked laser gun" or "Here's a dude who looks like he just walked out of the Road Warrior and he comes with his own GIANT ALLIGATOR".
Not hard to see who to root for there...
