Post Renters Insurance Questions
Here's the deal. My girlfriend and I currently do not have renters insurance.
We are going to be calling places on monday, and aren't quite sure how to insure our collection.

I know a lot of you have renters insurance, and I was wondering how I should determine the values of each item, seeing as i don't have receipts, etc.

Any suggestions about a specific company would be great, also.

This is an excellent question. I have homeowners insurance, but I knwo that doesn't cover collections. FOr that I was informed, a valuation expert would have to come over and go thru my stuff. I'm sure Farmers has a Japanese vinyl expert on staff.

I spoke to my friend at Allstate and he said it would be very very difficult to add collections to home policies. Usually they require individual policies for each item.
